Leadership Development Plan

My two-year plan for education and/or training:A) Continue pursuing the Master’s of Science in Management from Southwestern

College. Projected Graduation date is May 2010, provided all classes receive a

passing grade.B) Attend management seminars and bank training seminars that are offered to

me. Many times throughout the year training seminars are offered to the

bank staff. I will attend those that are in conjunction to my current job title as well as management seminars. I may have to take the initiative here and ask to attend those seminars and possibly pay for them myself.

C) Begin research on graduate schools for PhD I am still unsure what I would like to receive my PhD in, or if it is

even a possibility for me financially. More research in order to answer these questions is needed.

My two-year plan for mentoring/coaching:A) Start a coaching process.

My coach will be my boss, Vicky Knapic. We will discuss leadership styles and theories, ask questions, and share

experiences. This will include a weekly meeting, right now scheduled for Monday

afternoons from 3:30 – 4:00pm. B) Finding a suitable mentor.

Right now I don’t know of a suitable mentor. I will keep my eyes and ears open for a mentor and the opportunity to

ask for one. My father currently acts as a leadership mentor to me, but I believe I

may benefit more from creating a new mentor relationship with someone who is not a family member.

My five-year career path:A) Stay with my current company with opportunities for advancement.

If my company will offer me advancement opportunities I will gladly take on the added responsibility and would like to eventually hold an Executive position.

I will seek out and except opportunities for advancement in the fields of full time CSR (customer service representative), Senior Teller, and Branch Manger. Once these position have been acquired, I will seek advancement in the form of a Vice President or President position in

the attempt to receive an Executive positions within this company structure.

B) Find a new company to work for. If the company I am currently with doesn’t hold any future

opportunities for me, I will begin to look elsewhere. I would eventually like to move back to Austin, Texas and find

employment there. I would like to regionally manage or district manage a retail chain,

such as Dillard’s or Old Navy. I would also be interested in management in within the banking industry at another company.

I will begin a new career search in order to locate a job that will fit the requirements listed above. I would start with retail managing at a local branch and find ways to work up within the company in order to eventually serve as a district or regional manager for the company.
