Superb Performance in a Space Saving DesignBulletin 1102C Vacuum Contactors are designed for the toughestapplications and are well suited in the areas of mining, pumping, and other harsh applications where voltages above 600V AC are used. The contacts operate in a sealed vacuum chamber that prevents theexternal environment from affecting their operation. This vacuumenvironment in which the switching takes place allows for a fast, clean “make/break” action of the contacts. This helps extinguish the arc quickly reducing contact erosion. Because the vacuum interrupteris sealed, the arc chamber does not become contaminated and thespeed of opening does not decrease over the life of the contactor. These vacuum contactors reduce contact re-strike that occurs by “slow breaking” contacts of air-break contactors due to contaminated contact chambers and air quality after a number of operations.

    • Contacts sealed from harsh contamination – improved performance

    • Improved arc extinguishing above 600V – reduces contact wear

    • Minimal mechanical movement – minimizes downtime

    • DC magnet assembly – reduced power consumption

Bulletin 600/609 Manual Motor Switches are specifically designed for full voltage motor startingapplications where remote push button control is not necessary. They are ideally suited for startingand protecting smaller motors frequently used for fans and blowers. The manual switches consist ofa snap switch combined with a thermal overload device operating on the solder-ratchet principle. The switch is designed to prevent being held closed under a sustained motor overload. To reset theoverload mechanism, the switch lever is moved to the OFF position. The motor can be restarted bypushing the switch lever to the ON position.
