LEADING THE WAY2016–2017 United Way Campaign

A MESSAGE TO YOU, A PHILANTHROPIC LEADER

2 LEADING THE WAY

This past year, you left your mark on our community through your contribution to our 2016–17 Campaign. Your financial resources were essential in strengthening the nonprofit sector and helping individuals in need. Your leadership makes you an inspiration to others. We are proud to call ourselves your philanthropic partner and celebrate your commitment to Living United.

On the pages ahead you will find your name amongst some of the most generous individuals and organizations in our region. It is our pleasure to recognize:

ā Corporate and foundation partners who support our Impact Fund with significant investments of $10,000 or more;

ā Donors who give $5,000 or more to United Way, including our Kind Society members who direct $1,000 or more to our Impact Fund; and

ā Our annual award winners who exemplify the United Way virtues to give, advocate and volunteer.

Thank you for your support. Together we are breaking the cycle of poverty that holds back our entire region and building a brighter future full of hope and opportunity for children, adults and families.

“AS A MEMBER OF UNITED WAY’S TEN MILLION DOLLAR ROUNDTABLE I HAVE CHOSEN TO SIGNIFICANTLY INVEST IN THE IMPACT FUND. FINANCIAL STABILITY BEGINS WITH EDUCATION AND HOMEOWNERSHIP. PARTNERING WITH UNITED WAY MEANS EMPOWERING INDIVIDUALS AND FAMILIES TO BREAK THE NEGATIVE CYCLES THAT PREVENT THEM FROM OBTAINING THIS STABILITY.”

6 LEADING THE WAY

BOB DIDN’T KNOW HE’D RUN INTO HIS DAUGHTER HANNAH AT UNITED WAY’S ANNUAL UNITED2FEED FOOD-PACKING EVENT.

There, they joined their coworkers from AmeriHealth Caritas and Arkema, along with 500 other corporate volunteers, to fight for stronger, healthier communities by packing 120,000 meals for 8,000 families in our region. After experiencing the value of his volunteerism firsthand with Hannah, Bob knows that driving measurable, lasting Impact requires each and every one of us to come together:

“It’s not just the older generation teaching the younger generation. It’s all of us learning from each other and reminding each other that we have a responsibility to give what we can to drive real change.”
