This program is designed to provide the train-ing and education that will lead to success as a fly fishing guide. In the major river basins of Colorado, as well as across the country, fly fishing has become a major recreational activity. This program includes courses that will improve your technical knowledge of the science of fly fishing in both moving and still waters, while stressing the interaction with clients and the natural environment and being exposed to the aspects of running a small business.

An introduction to the basic processes used in decorative and artistic welding. Topics include basic safety of welding and cutting, oxy-acetylene heating, plasma arc cutting, GMAW (mig) welding and basic shop housekeeping. Students will choose from two projects and a final project. Bring durable leather gloves, leather work boots (steel toe is optional), clear safety glasses and wear cotton clothing including a long sleeved shirt.

PRINTMAKING, WHAT IS IT? NON CREDITA hands-on workshop examining materials and processes for the making of relief, intaglio, and planograph prints. Included are wood and linoleum cuts, collograph, lithograph, etching, engraving, drypoint, aquatinin, mezzotint, and silkscreen. In the afternoon we will make and print a collograph and monoprint. WILDFLOWER WATERCOLOR WORKSHOP NON CREDIT

This four-hour watercolor painting experience is for beginners through advanced painters. Wildflowers from the instructor’s gardens will be provided. This is an indoor workshop. Please bring watercolor materials: paints, brushes, paper and pencils. Some supplies will be provided by the instructor and available for sharing. We will break for a one hour lunch.

An introduction to the basic processes used in decorative and artistic welding.
