HOMEPORT Capital Campaign Update We are making great progress on our NCS dormitory, Homeport. We have HDC and Planning Board approval, and with the generous support of our board and advisors we have already reached $660K toward the overall capital campaign goal of $1.2M. We are now asking our friends and families in our programs for your support. Our urgent goal is to reach $1M in gifts and pledges by April 1, 2018 so that we can begin construction of the dormitory without jeopardizing NCS’s financial stability, and have the dorm ready for occupancy for summer 2019.
Additional exciting news is that we have an amazing matching grant from the Schmidt Family that will accelerate our ability to reach this goal! The Schmidt Family hopes to inspire other families to support our dormitory project and will donate $2, up to $250,000, for every new $1 in gifts and pledges between now and April 1st. Any gift, no matter how large or small, is important. We want our dormitory to honor all our NCS families, and hope that your family will join us in this strategic initiative. Learn to Kiteboard! NCS and NLW Join Forces NCS and Next Level Watersports are excited to join forces this summer to offer kiting courses exclusively to NCS members. NCS members are invited to two FREE beginner First Tracks Demo Clinics on Fridays July 6th and August 3rd (all ages). Plus, NCS and NLW will offer
three Learn to Kiteboard Classes on Wednesdays July 11th, 25th and August 8th. These classes will cost $100/student and will provide more in-depth instruction. Keep an eye out for an email from NCS detailing the launch of registration online, and more!

High School Sailing Team Update The Nantucket High School Varsity Sailing Team will begin practices on March 19th (weather permitting!!) so keep an eye out for them in the Harbor! Practice will be held Monday - Friday from 2:30 - 5:30pm with regattas on Saturdays (the first Regatta will be on March 31st). This year’s Captains are Abby Taaffe and Caroline Richards. The Junior Captains are James Taaffe and Cam Gottlieb. If your NHS student is interested in joining the team, please email Head Coach Lloyd at [email protected].
