‘Effective Public Speaking’ Learning and Academic Skills (LAS) Centre ‘Effective Public Speaking’ is a 10 hour program, covering three sub topics: Giving oral presentations Leading a discussion The basic concepts of debating The LAS Centre has partnered with Hawthorn Rotary Club to give students this unique opportunity to practise and improve upon their public speaking skills. The program will be run by the Rotary Club volunteers; the Rotary Club is a not-for- profit organisation, which consists of mostly retired/semi-retired professionals, who support good causes, such as education, helping indigenous communities, housing homeless people, etc. *Students who complete the full program will be presented with a Swinburne University of Technology and Rotary Club Participation Certificate.
