What is a TiPi and how is it used?

A TiPi (acronym for Team Pilot) is a forum for the discussion and exchange of documents, made available to a certain group of users.Once you are in a TiPi, you can read or post messages, which are organized by view and by category.

Enter a category name here

Choosing a category

In a TiPi, categories make it possible to organize the messages posted by the group so that they may be easily found.

When creating a message, you have one of two choices:- choose a pre-existing category- create a category

: to send your message to the TiPi.

: to save and flag your message by e-mail to one or several members of the TiPi.

The leader of the TiPi enjoys additional rights enabling him/her to make changes to all messages so as to make the structure of the TiPi as easilyreadable as possible.

Attaching one or several documents

When creating or making changes to a TiPi message, use the button to attach a file and to attachseveral documents.

Downloading an attachment

Right-click on the attachment and save the document to your hard drive. This will enable you to modify the document before attaching it to anew message. You may also simply consult the document by clicking directly on the icon.

Getting informed of the last publications

Receiving notifications To be sure to receive the messages notified from the TiPi,, you will have to: - click on “MY PROFILE AND OPTIONS” on Myessec homepage, select the tab “Alerts and notifications”, then “Modify”.- put your e-mail address.- in the drop-down menu, select “refer to TiPi subscriptions”.- save your modifications.

Signing up for TiPi alertsGo to the TiPi you want to sign up for, click on “Options”, the “Preferences” and select the right option.

The various send-out options

Depending upon the option selected, various different messages will be displayed on the TiPi.

“DRAFT” option: messages are visible to the author only, enabling he/she to keep a message with a view to making changes. “RESTRICTED”: messages are visible to the author, the recipient(s) and the leader of the TiPi only. “NORMAL”: messages are visible to users with access to the TiPi.

By using the # symbol at thebeginning of your message, youcan signal to recipients that theinformation you wish to pass on iscontained with the title and thatthey therefore do not need toopen the message.
