The Fayoum Farmer Field schools are successful and have been reported as such on many occasions in donor reports, in local media, even in Farming Matters (2008). But such reports do not tell the whole story of everything we learned about the FFS In 2012 we started the Centre of Excellence to upscale the FFS to other governorates.Many of the first generation of FFS facilitators were trained to become master trainers. We made this book with stories and pictures that illustrate our work activities. We think that we should not only tell that we are successful but we should find a way to share our experiences, and our questions with colleagues in a way that inspires others. We believe that inspiration is important for a good development of FFS in Egypt, as a good facilitator is the power to establish and deal with farmer field schools. In this publication we like to share our experiences with colleagues who want to know more about the FFFS or who want to become a FFS facilitator.
