Presidents’MessagefromWayneSimsLeaverite Newsletter, January It was very great to see everyone at the first meeting of the new year, also quite humbling to stand before you. My thanks to Bill Nelson for his teaching on hard rock mining, and the humor that he presented along with insights into the hard work of mining. I am looking forward to all the volunteer hours that members will help on putting on our show this year, we will need each and every one of you to make this a successful show. Plan on being at as many show meetings possible so that you will know how to help in this endeavor, thanks. Field trips this year, come and enjoy what many club members include in their plans and share what you learn with friends who may become members also of our club. This is what many members put a lot of effort into, come and enjoy with each other, the many trips that we will have this year. The rock exchange is proceeding with e-mails going back and forth with the Tulip City club. We have a library. Please contact Judy Nason about books that you may check out to increase your knowledge about gem and minerals. Location is just to the east of the main entry door. Judy will be happy to assist you with the books and maps available to all of us. Thanks, Wayne Sims President
