LEBANON CITY SCHOOLS Three Hall of Fame Inductees Mr. Harlan Smith was an outstanding educator and contributor who positively promoted public education within the Lebanon City Schools and community. Mr. Smith was a teacher, coach and athletic director before he was promoted as the junior high principal and later the assistant superintendent of Lebanon City Schools. Mr. Smith has always been conscientious and outgoing, willing to help in any way that he could and is both respected and a prominent member of this community and the Lebanon City Schools. Mrs. Susanne LeFeber was a Home Economics teacher in the Lebanon City School District for 25 years, was the department chairperson, and was an active member on curriculum committees. Mrs. LeFeber was also the student council advisor and she chaperoned many high school dances, sporting events, and various other club events. Her work has had a positive influence on thou- sands of students and continues to have a positive affect through her interest and support of the school district and the Lebanon community. Ms. Mary Wells developed a program through scouts for the East Ridge students called Homework Club. The program was initiated approximately in 1984 and continued until Mary passed away in 2010. Mary also started a program called the Back to School Carnival in East Ridge where she would provide students back packs full of supplies each fall. Mary expanded the concept of the Homework Club into other federal housing developments. She oversaw this initiative and within a month Homework Clubs were up and running throughout the school district. Mr. Harlan Smith, Ms. Susanne LeFeber and Ms. Mary Wells are the most recent inductees to the Lebanon Hall of Fame on May 5th. End of the Year Reminders Bowman, Donovan and Berry Parents Please pick up medications from school nurse. 1 Hour early release on May 25 (students last day). Please settle all school fees. Check lost and found for missing clothes and/or other items. The school offices will be open weekdays from 7:30 am - 3:30 pm until June 10th. 2016 - 2017 class placement letters will be mailed out on Friday, July 29th. Students entering 7th grade next year will need the Tdap and Meningococcal (MCV4) vaccinations prior to the first day of 7th grade. Project Excellence Heather Bickford (left) began teaching 3rd grade at Holbrook Elementary in Lebanon in 2001. She earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Cincinnati, a Bachelor of Science in Education at Wright State University, and a Masters in Education from Maygrove College. Currently, Heather is a second grade teacher at Bowman Primary. In her fifteen years at Lebanon, she has taught 3rd, 2nd and 1st grades. She lives in Maineville with her husband and two children. Heather recently shared, “As a teacher I am so lucky to be a part of a child’s little moments and big successes every day!” Kim Dillon (right) has been working at Donovan since 2010 as a fourth grade intervention specialist. She graduated from Miami University with a Bachelor of Science in Education. She resides in Lebanon and both of her children have attended Lebanon City Schools since the first grade. Kim recently shared, "The opportunity to create better readers and thinkers is the absolute best part of teaching!" Brodi and Andrea (Crusham) Conover In high school: Both Andrea and Brodi graduated from Lebanon High School in 2007 and were actively involved in both scholastic and extracurricular activities: National Honor Society, Student Council, War Zone and The Lebanon Light. Andrea was also involved in dance, winterguard, and color- guard. Brodi was a founding member of LHS’s Diversity Club and also earned four varsity letters in golf and two varsity letters in baseball. He was a three-time All-League performer in golf and was recognized as an Academic All-Ohio in both golf and baseball. In higher education: Andrea attended Ohio University in Athens, Ohio and graduated magna cum laude in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Middle Childhood Education. She was involved in the Collegiate Middle Level Association and Kappa Delta Pi (the education honor society). Brodi attended Georgetown University in Washington, DC and graduated in 2011 with a bachelor’s degree in Government and a double minor in American History and Theology. While in college, Brodi worked on Capitol Hill, for the American Red Cross, and for columnist George F. Will. After Georgetown, Brodi attended The Ohio State University Moritz College of Law. During law school, Brodi worked for the Warren County Prosecutor’s Office. He graduated in 2014. Now: Brodi and Andrea were in the same fourth grade class at Donovan Intermediate School, began dating in high school and got married in 2012. They recently bought a house in Lebanon and live there with their two year old chocolate lab, Archie. They are excited to be back and call Lebanon home again, and are excited to raise their family and expose it to the same great community and school district they each were raised in. Andrea is finishing her first year of teaching at Berry Intermediate School—where she and Brodi both attended sixth through eighth grade. At Berry, Andrea teaches sixth grade language arts. Three Hall of Fame Inductees

Mr. Harlan Smith was an outstanding educator and contributor who positively promoted public education within the Lebanon City Schools and community. Mr. Smith was a teacher, coach and athletic director before he was promoted as the junior high principal and later the assistant superintendent of Lebanon City Schools. Mr. Smith has always been conscientious and outgoing, willing to help in any way that he could and is both respected and a prominent member of this community and the Lebanon City Schools.
