2016 Durham MED Week
For the 4th consecutive year, LeChase served as a co-sponsor for this year’s
Durham MED Week, a weeklong series of events geared toward celebrating the outstanding achievements of Minority Business Enterprises (MBEs) and honoring organizations that support minority business development. The theme for 2016 was
“Small Businesses: Continuing to Survive & Thrive.” Denise Thompson was tapped to work on the planning committee for the second year in a row, (continued on page 6)
Scott Lawler, estimator for LeChase’s Schenectady office, represented the firm during one of the Forum’s highly sought-after sessions, “One-on-One At the Table,” where he got the opportunity to speed network with a number of pre-registered MWBE firms.
Thousands of existing and emerging Minority and Women-owned Business Enterprises (MWBE) from across the state convened for the two-day event, connecting with various government agencies and authorities, and participating in a packed schedule of breakout training sessions and panel discussions.

NAWIC Conversation with Congresswoman Louise Slaughter
On October 20, members of the Rochester Chapter
of NAWIC (National Association of Women in

with Congresswoman Louise Slaughter. The intimate
gathering—held at the Builders Exchange of Roches-
ter—gave guests the opportunity to discuss issues
such as local and regional infrastructure, energy
and the environment, health care, the economy and
