Providing mobility solutions for adults, teens and kids with complex postural needs. Leckey is a globally recognised pioneer in the research and development of products that help children and adults with disabilities to go, do, enjoy and participate in everyday activities.

Function - In mobility, function can mean different things to different individuals depending on their clinical, social and environmental needs. Durability, crash testing, transferring, balance, power, ease of setup and use are all functional requirements that have greatly influenced the development of the seating systems and mobility base.

Comfort - This becomes more significant as an individual becomes older and spends more time in their seating system. While the Mygo and Squiggles seats have one cushion option, the KIT seat has two – castellated standard foam and memory foam, as well as a range of machine washable covers, including an infection control version that can be washed at 90°C.

The KIT system can also accommodate any other 17” (43cm) pressure relief cushion to accommodate individuals who are at a high risk of pressure issues.

Why mobility?The importance of mobility cannot be underestimated as it gives an individual independence.

For adults, independence becomes more important as they depend on their mobility and seating systems everyday, enabling them to participate fully in their daily activities.

For teens and kids, mobility not only gives them independence but also benefits their parents, carers and families. It enables the child to explore, learn, socialise and develop, encouraging cognitive and sensory development, and boosting their self confidence.

Fundamental to providing this independence are the principles of posture, function and comfort which we have used for over 30 years in the design of all our seating systems and in particular the new KIT seat and mobility base.

Posture - While our seating systems address all areas of postural support, head & trunk alignment, leg & foot positioning, and pelvic stability have been a key area of focus. The culmination of this is the innovative Pelvic Cradle (patent pending) that provides unsurpassed proximal positioning, increasing stability, upper body alignment and function.

1. Compatible with a number of headrests and head supports e.g. Leckey, Whitmyer and Otto Bock.

2. Angle, depth and height adjustable shoulder support can be adjusted to provide shoulder protraction.

3. Angle and height adjustable thoracic support can be positioned laterally to accommodate scoliosis.

4. Armrests can be height and angle adjusted or removed for ease of transfer.

5. Leg guides can be positioned to accommodate windsweeping of up to 20° adduction or abduction.

6. Internal/external, varus/valgus and plantar/dorsi flexion can be accommodated. Footplates flip away for ease of transfer.

7. A range of communication devices can be easily attached.

8. Seat base cushion: 75mm deep on size 1 and 95mm deep on size 2. Available with castellated or memory foam.

9. Angle, depth and height adjustable sacral support.

10. Innovative Pelvic Cradle (patent pending) with 4 point positioning straps provides proximal positioning for users. With angle, height and depth adjustable hip laterals.

11. Standard, complex horizontal and complex vertical laterals can be used to support users.

12. A choice of standard or infection control cushion covers. All are removable and can be machine washed and tumble dried. The standard covers are machine washable at 40°C and the infection control covers at 90°C.

11. Reinforced 4 point pelvic harness (Size 1 and Size 2) with integral hip guides gives a secure, stable base of support.

Chest and trunk harnesses are available as accessories.
