Previous Federation for Credit Management Workshops were attended by 220 delegates The Federation of Credit Management in South Africa is proud to host a full day workshop on issues of importance when it comes to managing the accounts receivable book, consumer and commercial debt alike. The workshop will cover a Case Study: incorporating most of the “gremlins” which Credit Providers, Financial Managers, Credit Managers, Attorneys, Collection Agents, Credit Bureaux, Debt Counsellors and Service Providers struggle with. There will be ample time for presenters and delegates to deliberate and debate on the many issues facing the practical application of managing the debtors book. The Case Study will be debated and deliberated from 3 sides of the coin: Experts on the Legal and Academic Opinion; Experts on the Interpretation; and Delegates on the Application in Practice. The keynote address is confirmed and will be delivered by Frans Haupt - Director Law Clinic UP. The Academic and Research Panel Dr Ina Meiring - Ina holds BA, LLB and LLD degree and is an Executive in ENSafrica’s banking and finance department. Ina is regarded as one of the top finance regulatory experts in SA and her clients include leading local and international financial institutions. Her experience includes banking and financial services regulation and consumer law, including the CPA, the NCA, and PoPIA. Her expertise includes advising on corporate governance, exchange control, securitisation, payment instruments and payment methods. Ina is a member of the expert group appointed by the South African Reserve Bank for the review of the PASA Act. She has authored on South African banking regulation for a number of legal publications, and has lectured at UJ and UNISA.

Frans Haupt - Frans is Director of the UP Law Clinic and holds B and LLB degrees. He has lectured on the NCA locally and internationally and also provides training on the NCA and is often quoted in the press as a specialist on the Act. Frans is a seasoned attorney and acts as a consultant for the Department of Trade and Industry, the National Credit Regulator, credit providers, debt counsellors and consumer organisations.

Riccardo Petersen - Riccardo is a Director at Norton Rose Fulbright SA Inc in the dispute resolution team. His expertise spans commercial and contractual litigation as well as regulatory and investigations disputes. Riccardo has extensive experience in financial services, markets  and consumer law with a focus on regulatory matters and exchange control. Areas of specialism include the Financial Advisory and Intermediary Services Act, the Collective Investment Schemes Control Act and the Currency and Exchanges Act. Riccardo advises banks, corporates and financial institutions on the implications of the National Credit Act. 

Adv Jan Augustyn - Jan is a member of the Gauteng Society of Advocates and of the Institute of Commercial Forensic Practitioners. He is an admitted advocate of the High Court. He holds a B.Iuris and LLB degrees. He has almost 20 years of experience in the Department of Justice and held positions such as Prosecutor, Private Secretary to Ministers of Justice and Senior State Advocate at the Investigating Directorate: Serious Economic Offences. He has a further 16 years’ experience in the regulatory and compliance environment.

Peter Rafferty - is the CEO of FutureSoft and holds a BProc degree and various courses in e-Commerce and Management. He is the only South African Lawyer who has completed the highly lauded Program in e-Commerce (Cum Laude) through Unisa’s School of Business Leadership. He focuses on Strategic Management, e-Commerce, Business Models and Systems Analysis. He has assisted the Law Society of South Africa with lecturing in the fields of Finances and Accounting, Information Technology and Practice Management.

Ronél Lewies - Ronél holds an LLB degree and she is a Director of Lewies Attorneys. Ronél specialises in banking and credit law. She has been involved in the credit industry for many years, is well known in the industry, and acts for various credit providers, credit bureaux, and industry representative bodies. Ronél’s work includes advocacy, strategic direction and commercial litigation. Her expertise also includes extensive work in Namibia when she held the position of Project Co-ordinator for the Namibia DSA.

Adv Andries Cornelius - Andries is admitted as an Advocate of the High Court of South Africa. During his studies he obtained a B.Proc and LLB degree as well as a diploma in forensic investigation. He is the current CEO of the Council for Debt Collectors.

Dr Tjaart van der Walt - Tjaart holds a BComm, MBA and Phd degree. He is the Group Director of Corporate Rebels. Tjaart is also a Founding Director of Global CMP and the Federation of Credit Management in SA.

Eugenè Joubert - Eugenè is the only person on the Africa continent who holds a MCE from ACC. He is a certified CP(int) and is a fellow of the ICM in SA and the UK. Eugenè is the Chairman of Corporate Rebels, a Founding Director of Global CMP and the Federation of Credit Management in SA.
