AUTHENTIC BACARD Í MOJITO COCKTAIL Inspired by The Draque, a cocktail first muddled by pirate Sir Richard Drake using aguardiente, the recipe for the BACARDÍ Mojito was perfected by Don Facundo Bacardí Massó using his light-bodied BACARDÍ rum. The first wrien recipes of the Mojito date back to the 1930’s and contain BACARDÍ rum. 1 part BACARDÍ Superior rum 3 parts club soda 12 mint leaves 1/2 lime 1/2 part sugar Place 12 mint leaves, 1/2 part sugar and 1/2 lime in glass. Muddle well with a pestle. Add BACARDÍ rum, top off with club soda, stir well and garnish with sprigs of mint or a lime wheel. ORIGINAL BACARD Í CUBA LIBRE In 1900, a group of Americans soldiers in Cuba were served a new cocktail of BACARDÍ rum, Coca- Cola ® and a squeeze of lime. The group toasts with “Cuba Libre” or “Free Cuba” to celebrate the end of the Spanish-American War, and the world’s number one cocktail is born. 1 part BACARDÍ Gold rum 3 parts cola 2 lime wedges Fill a tall glass with cubed ice. Squeeze and drop a fresh lime wedge into the glass. Pour in BACARDÍ Gold rum and top with chilled cola. Stir gently and top with remaining lime wedge. BACARD Í HAND-SHAKEN DAIQUIRÍ In 1898, the original hand-shaken DaiquirÍ is created by Jennings S. Cox, an American engineer stationed at the DaiquirÍ mines in Cuba. He concocts a refreshing cocktail of limes, sugar, crushed ice, and BACARDÍ rum to cool off under the hot Cuban sun. 3 parts BACARDÍ Superior rum 1 part lime or lemon juice 1/2 part simple syrup In a shaker with ice, combine ingredients. Shake and pour into glass. BACARD Í PIÑA COLADA The Piña Colada evolved from an original recipe traced to Cuba in the 1900s to the world-famous variation created by Ramon “Monchito” Marrero in 1954, a bartender at the legendary Caribe Hilton Hotel in Puerto Rico. 3 parts BACARDÍ Select rum 4 parts pineapple juice 2 parts cream of coconut Combine ingredients in a blender or shaker with crushed ice.
