About the PresenterJames Dwyer is a teacher with a passion for robotics, who loves to share his knowledge and excite other teachers! James has substantial experience as a facilitator of robotics workshops, from beginning to advanced. He is heavily involved in RoboCup competitions and has mentored numerous teams to success at the highest levels. James has a warm and engaging presentation style and his supportive approach to learning makes him a great workshop presenter.
EV3 Robotics - RoboCup Junior Australia (RCJA) WorkshopWhen: Day 2 – Friday 19th May 2017 Time 9.30am – 3pmWhere: Ipswich Junior Grammar School Cnr Queen Victoria Parade and Chermside Road, East IpswichWorkshop Fee: $99.00 including GST *Morning tea & lunch will be provided.In this workshop, participants will: • This introductory workshop will allow you to learn how to
program the LEGO EV3 Robotics system using coding activities relating to the RoboCupJunior competition. RoboCupJunior Australia (RCJA) is a fantastic robotics initiative. Teams work in a cooperative and supportive environment in three distinct challenges; Dance, Rescue and Soccer. The focus of RoboCupJunior is the development of teamwork skills as well as technical skills in an environment of participation, fun and excitement.
• Participants at this workshop will be introduced to the Dance and Rescue divisions of the RCJA competition and by the end of the workshop will have started programming a simple robot to enter in each division and will be equipped with simple ideas to involve your students.
• This workshop is also suitable for teachers who are considering implementing a Robotics program in their school.
