James has substantial experience as a facilitator of robotics workshops, from beginning to advanced. He is heavily involved in RoboCup competitions and has mentored numerous teams to success at the highest levels. EV3 Robotics - RoboCup Junior Australia (RCJA) Workshop When: Day 2 – Friday 19th May 2017 Time 9.30am – 3pm Where: Ipswich Junior Grammar School Cnr Queen Victoria Parade and Chermside Road, East Ipswich Workshop Fee: $99.00 including GST *Morning tea & lunch will be provided. In this workshop, participants will: This introductory workshop will allow you to learn how to program the LEGO EV3 Robotics system using coding activities relating to the RoboCupJunior competition. RoboCupJunior Australia (RCJA) is a fantastic robotics initiative. Teams work in a cooperative and supportive environment in three distinct challenges; Dance, Rescue and Soccer. The focus of RoboCupJunior is the development of teamwork skills as well as technical skills in an environment of participation, fun and excitement. Participants at this workshop will be introduced to the Dance and Rescue divisions of the RCJA competition and by the end of the workshop will have started programming a simple robot to enter in each division and will be equipped with simple ideas to involve your students. This workshop is also suitable for teachers who are considering implementing a Robotics program in their school. EV3 Robotics – Coding Made Easy – Introductory Workshop When: Day 1 – Thursday 18th May 2017 Time 9.30am – 3pm Where: Ipswich Junior Grammar School Cnr Queen Victoria Parade and Chermside Road, East Ipswich Workshop Fee: $99.00 including GST *Morning tea & lunch will be provided. In this workshop, participants will: Discover why robotics is becoming a major tool for teaching STEM & more. Experience first-hand just how engaging and stimulating robotics can be in developing creative thinking, problem solving, teamwork & communication skills.
