SW Saputra - Jurnal Ilmiah Saintek Perikanan, 2008 - eprints.undip.ac.idPenelitian distribusi dan ruaya udang Jari (Metapenaeus elegans) dilakukan di Laguna Segara Anakan, Cilacap, Jawa Tengah, bertujuan untuk mengkaji pola distribusi dan ruayanya. Penelitian dilakukan sejak Februari sampai dengan Desember 2004, menggunakan metode survei, dan pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode sistematik sampling. Berdasarkan kondisi habitat dan distribusi Apong, daerah penelitian dibedakan menjadi tiga wilayah perairan, yaitu wilayah Barat, wilayah Tengah dan wilayah Timur …

ABSTRAK

Penelitian distribusi dan ruaya udang Jari (J\lfetapenaeus elegans) dilakukan di Laguna Segara Anakan, Cilacap, Jawa Tengah, bertujuan unn1k mengkaji pola distribusi dan ruayanya. Penelitian dilakukan sejak Februari sampai dengan Desember 2004, menggunakan metode survei,dan pengambilan sampel menggunakan metode sistematik sampling. Berdasarkan kondisi habitat dan distribu i Apong, daerah penelitian dibedakan menjadi tiga ,vilayah perairan, yaitu ,vilayah Barnt, wilayah Tengah dan wilayah Timur. Pada setiap wilayah ditentukan tiga lokasi sampling. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan udang jari tertangkap sepanjang tahun, terdistribusi ke seluruh pelosok perairan Segara Anakan. M. elegans lebih banyak tertangkap di ,vilayah perairan Sungai Donan dan sekitamya (wilayah timur). M. elegans yang lertangkap di perairan laguna (,vilayah barat) berukuran lebih besar dan lebih banyak yang lelah malang gonad dibanding ,vilayah perairan lainnya. M. elegans memijah sepanjang tahun dengan puncak bulan Mei. Daerah pemijahan di perairan zona barat, terutama laguna sebelah timur Karanganyar.

ABSTRACT

The research of !he dispersion of fine shrimp {!vfelapenae11s elegans de i\lfan 1907) was held on Segara Anakan Lagoon, Cilacap Cenlra/ Ja:va. Sampling was collec/ed Jyslemalically during s111vey from Febma,y to December 2004. Based on habilal condition and !he dislribulion of Apong (small size set net) fishing 1111ils, slt1dy area iva divided info lhree zone : !he West, enlral and !he East Zone. Resul!s showed Iha/ fine shrimp caught along the yea,; was dislribu!ed to all Segara Anakan waters. 1\11. elegans ca/ched more in Donan river wafers (Eas/ zone). Shrimp caught in !he lagoon (Wes/ zone) was Jagger in size lhan those collected from olher zone and they were in !he mall/ring reproductive status. Specimens caughl from T1itih Kulon and west Kutawa,•11 were reconded on !he smallesl. Spawning occurred along !he yea,; wi lh peak seasons in Al/ay. The spm1111ing ground in !he Wes/ Zone, is mainly !he lagoon of East Karanganyar.

PENDAH LUA

Metapenaens elegans de Man (1907) disebut juga fine shrimp (lnggris), crevelle elegance (Prancis), cama,vnfino (Spanyol) (Chan 1998), dengan nama lokal udang jahe, udang jari atau dogol hijau. J\lf elegans tem1asuk kategori spesies yang seluruh daur hidupnya berada di muara sungai atau laguna dengan salinitas rendah (Motoh, 1981; Miquel, 1983: Dall et al.,

1990; Chan, 1998; Dudley 2000°). Dudley (2000°) menyatakan bahwa udang jari hampir tidak pemah ditemukan di laut, dan hanya sesekali ditemukan di mulut lag una selama pasang t-inggi. Sebaliknya, Chan (1998) menyebutkan kadang-kadang spesies 1111 ditemukan juga di laut sampai kedalaman 55 meter. Dall et al. (1990) dan Chan (1998) menyatakan bahwa J\11. elegans dapal matang seksual dan melengkapi seluruh siklus hidupnya
