The course requires extensive reading of all genres of fiction, as well as composition and discussion. Analysis of Literature is considered an honors level course for sophomores and is highly recommended for juniors and seniors who plan to continue a post‐high school education. Cell Phone / Other Electronic Device Policy

Due to the distracting nature of cell phones and other electronic devices, they are no longer allowed in the classroom.

Assignments are due at the beginning of the class period. After the bell rings and class begins, the work will be considered late. If you are absent from class you are responsible for coming to me before or after class and making up any work in a timely fashion (number of days absent = number of days beyond due date to make up work for excused absences). It is the student’s responsibility to arrange, with Ms. James, a mutually convenient time to make up late work. Late / missing work due to unexcused absence will not be accepted. Daily work and assignments will lose 10% for each day late for the first and second days; 50% for 3 days to one week late. After that, the assignments will not be accepted. Be prepared to accept the consequences of missing or late assignments in the grade book: i.e. zeroes (0).
