Lent and Holy Week 2019
“Filled with the Holy Spirit, Jesus returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spirit into the desert for forty days, to be tempted by the devil.” Luke 4:1
Dear Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
During Lent we open our hearts to Christ’s call to repentance – turning away from sin and turning back to God. The events of Holy Week remind us that the Victory of Christ can be ours if our lives find their model in Him. We, too, can be Holy!
I invite you to live again the great mysteries of our faith by attending our services and activities, and receiving the Sacraments throughout these forty days of Lent, and most especially during Holy Week and Eastertime. We are GREATLY blessed when you are present. Please plan on coming and bring a friend.
Now I ask, please pay careful attention to the back side of this sheet and the two-sided
calendar (included) containing the liturgical and spiritual opportunities at Saint Ann Catholic Church for the season of Lent and for the celebration of Holy Week. These great opportunities for us to renew ourselves in spirit, for fellowship, and for growth in discipleship include our Lenten Potluck Series every Friday evening with discussions on Sacramentals – devotional aids to our worship, the Light Is On with confessions every Monday 5:30 to 7:00PM and Thursdays 6:00 to 7:00PM, and daily Adoration in our Mary, Mother of Mercy Chapel.
My friends, I encourage each of us to be renewed in spirit by recommitting ourselves this
