Recital Series: Ivan Garford Jazz TrioRussell Hall

Ivan Garford (Piano), Joel Humann (Double Bass) and Derek Scurll (Percussion) came together through various musical activities in and around Cambridge, and have since performed in theatre shows, private functions and some of the more refined restaurants and hotel lobbies! Their music is a rich mix of modern jazz, based mainly on the typical “Standards” repertoire. They also play transcriptions from classic piano trio line-ups, such as the Bill Evans and Oscar Peterson trios. The music offers a platform for three-way improvisation between the players, drawing on their wealth of musical experience.
