On Valentine’s Day we closed our 6th time for serv-
ing our homeless brothers & sisters @ the Monsi-
gnor House. Thank you everyone…those of you
who pray for Family Promise, those who brought delicious food,
those who donated delicious food, those who stayed overnight,
those who washed bedding & linens, those who moved cots in &
out, those who cleaned, those who helped with coordination of
the week & those who are helping to design the leadership of
Family Promise Holy Spirit. Pope Francis encourages us to “Ask
Jesus what he wants from you and be brave!” All of you have
answered that call & our guests benefited from the quiet ways in
which you served. Some of you say, “is that all?” Yes! We
work as community to create community & the work is light
because we share it in community.
Thurs Mar 3 from 9:30-11:00 the Monsignor House @ 2810
Central will be open for tours or to visit about the Family Prom-
ise Program. For questions please call & leave a message for
Kathie @ 781.5033.
Next weekend, our parish will take up the Annual National
Black & Indian Mission Collection. This collection helps build
the Church in African American, Native American, & Alaska
Native communities coast to coast. Schools, parish religious
education programs, and diocesan ministries depend on you gen-
erosity to help them spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ! Enve-
lopes are available by the Parish Office for those who want to
participate.
All musicians are invited to share their talents in lead-
ing the music. Practice at 7:00pm on Wednesdays ~
enter through the shrine door; follow the sidewalk to
the right of the church.
Liturgical Tidbits: Best Lent EVER! What Should I Give
Up for Lent? Lent is the perfect time to form new life-giving
habits and abandon old self-destructive habits. But most of us
just give up chocolate. Then, when Easter arrives, we realize
we really haven’t grown spiritually since the beginning of
Lent. Lent is not just about giving things up, like chocolate.
Lent is about doing something—something bold to become a
better husband or wife, father or mother, son or daughter,
friend, neighbor, etc.
What if this year you did more than just give up something
during Lent? It’s not too late to do something life-
changing. Sign up for Dynamic Catholic’s Best Lent Ever.
You’ll find a link in your email, as well as on the parish web-
site www.holyspiritgf.org.
