MythOrion the hunter, the hunter right above Lepus loves to hunt hares. So some people say Lepus is representing all the hares that have been hunted by Orion and others say Lepus was in the moon.

Lepus is a constellation just lying south of the celestial equator immediately south of Orion.

Its name is Latin for hare.
