Step 1: Order the data from smallest to largest

Step 2: Find the minimum and maximum values

Step 3: Find the median of the data

Step 4: Find the medians for the data above and below the median. The lower median is called

the first quartile, labeled Q1; the upper median is the third quartile, labeled Q3.
