“…and has not placed upon you in the religion any difficulty…”Quran, 22:78

Allah reminded us in the verse earlier that Islam is not a difficult religion and does not get people into difficulties.

The Divine law given to mankind was never meant to put people in difficulties.

Whenever there are difficulties, Allah gave us the options to help us facing these situations.

Examples:To perform the four unit prayers (such as Zuhr, ‘Asr and Isya’) as two units while travelling.This allowance (rukhsah) was mentioned in both the Quran and Sunnah.

“And when you travel throughout the land, there is no blame upon you for shortening the prayer…”

Quran, 4:101

The companions asked the prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) whether they are still allowed to shorten their prayers in times of peace. The prophet (peace and blessings be upon him replied): “It is an act of charity which Allah has done to you, so accept His charity”. Hadith narrated by Imam Muslim.

“He has only forbidden to you dead animals, blood, the flesh of swine, and that which has been dedicated to other than Allah . But whoever is forced [by

necessity], neither desiring [it] nor transgressing [its limit], there is no sin upon him. Indeed, Allah is Forgiving and Merciful.”

Quran, 2:173

The notion of fitrah.

What is fitrah?◦ The term literally means creation; causing something to exist; natural

disposition which a child is born.

◦ Technically, it refers to: The nature of state of human’s birth (i.e. sinless); Unconfirmed state which exist until the individual consciously acknowledges

his belief.

Islam is known as religion of fitrah because it addresses the basic needs of human being:

The devotion is showed to acts of obedience and fulfilling our obligations towards:
