#1) Add one teens number to the ones digit of the other.
#2) Multiply that sum by 10.
#3) Multiply the ones digits.
#4) Add this to your answer.
Try this in your head (17 x 13)
Think…
Step # 1) Add one teens number to the ones digit of the other.17 + 3 = 20
Step # 2) Multiply that sum by 10.20 x 10 = 200
Step # 3) Multiply the ones digits.7 x 3 = 21
Step # 4) Add them. 200 + 21 = 221
