THE SABBATH TODAY

9. Colossians 2:16,17 explains why God no longer demands that we observe the Sabbath Day the same way he demanded Old Testament people to observe it. The ceremonial laws were shadows of what was to come. From the outline of a shadow, we learn something about the body that is coming. Why are these Old Testament shadows no longer necessary for New Testament believers?Because the body, Christ our Savior, has come. Why look at shadows when we can see the body itself? Jesus fulfilled the Old Testament prophecies for us.
