Learning Standards : 1.1.1 Able to listen and respond to stimulus given with guidance :
g) Oral blending and segmenting.
2.1.2 Able to blend phonemes into recognizable words and read
them aloud.
Learning outcomes : By the end of this lesson, pupils should be able to:
1) Say and pronounce the sound ‘aw’
2) Say and pronounce at least 7 words that have phoneme ‘aw’
Educational emphases : co-operation, excitement, self-confident.
Previous knowledge :.Pupils had learnt about many types of animals.
Moral values : Love towards animals.
Teaching materials : 1) Picture cards

Pronounce the word cards based on the picture cards shown.

1. Teacher pronounce the word and asks the pupils to listen to.
2. Teacher pronounce the word for the second time and asks the pupils to repeat after.
3. Teacher shows the other examples of word that contains the phoneme ‘aw’ by using word cards.
4. Teacher pronounce the words and asks the pupils to repeat after.
Practice(15minutes)
Pronounce the words on the word cards correctly.

1. Pupils will get into group of 4 or 5.
2. Each group will pick out 2 word cards from the ‘mystery box’.
3. Each group need to go to in front of the class and pronounce the word together with clear and correct pronunciation.
Production(15minutes)
Arranging the letter to construct words.

1. All groups will be given an envelope that contains some letters.
2. They need to arrange the letter to construct word and then paste the word on the paper provided.
3. After that each group need to sounds the word
correctly.4. Teacher encourages all
pupils to take part into the group discussion and present it to the teacher.
Closure(10minutes)
Recalls the lesson. 1. Teacher recalls the content of the lesson by asking pupils to pronounce the words with phoneme ‘aw’ again.
