• Skill Game: Empty the circleMark out a circle about five metres in diameter containing 10 to 20footballs. Four students are inside the circle, the remaining areoutside. Players inside circle must pick up balls and kick them outas fast as possible. Players outside the circle attempt to retrievethe balls (as quickly as possible and return them to the circle). The game finishes when all balls are out of the circle at one time.Change players inside the circle after end of game.

Skills.• Activity 1:
First student runs out and chest marks a football thrown by astudent coach, bounces ball, handballs back to coach and returnsto line. Repeat.
Activity 2: First child runs to cone, picks up ball one handed,bounces, places ball at next cone, does commando roll, gets tofeet, continues around last cone, picks up ball and replaces at firstcone. Next student repeats.
• Skill game: Out and BackTeams of five students stand five metres from a cone. First studentsteps and kicks the ball past the cone, runs to retrieve ball,bounces twice on the way back and then gives to next in line.Repeat.

• Dodge and Steal: In an area the size of a basketball court, a numberof footballs are placed behind each baseline. Students are in twoteams, one in each half court. They must try to cross their opponent’s baseline, take a ball and return to their own half without being tagged.

Game preparation – umpiring• Activity 1: Coach sits students down and demonstrates umpiring

student performs the correct signal. Repeat.• Activity 3: In threes, have two students perform an infringement
and the third student needs to call and perform the correct umpiring signal. Rotate roles.
• Activity 4: Pairs practise and demonstrate whistle blowing with anemphasis on loudness, sharpness and length of whistle.
• Activity 5: While running around a circle, stop on teacher/coachescommand, blow whistle and demonstrate signal as determined by teacher/coach.

• Football Scatter: Coach gathers all footballs in a bag. On ‘go’, coachthrows balls and children quickly retrieve and place back into bag.Aim for children is to keep the bag full.
• Students are divided into six equal groups, one for each testingcomponent.
• Nominate a football committee member or coach to supervise eachgroup.
• Teacher to explain assessment outlining the importance of accuracywhen assessing.
• Students within each group work with and test a partner.
• Students rotate to next station once each activity is completed.
1. Run quickly for 40 metres, touching the ball on the ground every 10metres on alternative sides of the body.
2. Run, roll a football down in front and then pick it up again whilst running.
3. Run and jump up to grab with two hands a ball held overhead.
4. Run for 40 metres bouncing a ball every 10 metres.
5. Mark in the hands in front of the body (rather than on the chest) aball tossed from five metres.
6. Kick a drop punt with the preferred foot for seven metres. Kick apunt with the non-preferred football for six metres.

• Duty team sets up playing field and prepares for the start of play.

• Quick Hands: In groups of three, form a triangle. Using two footballs,player A catches and handballs the balls in succession back toplayers B and C. Start off slowly then quicken rate. Use left and righthands. Change receiver every three minutes. Count how manyhandballs before a fumble.
• Conducted by the teacher with assistance from the team coaches.
• Activity 1: Position half the group at one cone (a) and the other half ata second cone (b) 20-30 metres apart. Team A kicks and Team B leads,marks, runs on and handballsback to Team A. Players follow direction of ball.
