Verse 1 The furious wolf attempted to bite her, but all-powerful God knew how to protect her. He wished to make her without sin, a Virgin unstained even by our first father’s fault.
Verse 2 This newborn babe is the mighty monarch, Christ the patriarch clothed in flesh. By making himself a little child, he has redeemed us: He who was infinite made himself finite.
Verse 3 Many a prophecy told of his coming, and now in our days we have seen them fulfilled. We see God made man upon the earth and man in heaven because He so willed.

The Office of Compline
sung by the Compline Choir of Saint Joseph Cathedral
1st Sunday of each month, September – June
The Office of Compline is sung at 9:00 p.m. and lasts about 40 minutes.
It consists of psalms, short passages from scripture, a hymn, canticle
(Nunc Dimittis), responsory, an anthem, and several additional prayers.
“Like” Saint Joseph Cathedral Music on Facebook and receive electronic concert reminders and track all the happenings in the music department. Photos and reports on events are updated regularly.
