_______________________________________________________________________________________________Dear Sir or Madam,

I have had the privilege of working with Natalie Chesi when she was candidate attorney in the delict unit of the Wits Law Clinic from 01 February 2013 to 02 September 2013.

From the outset we were able to work closely together on various difficult matters pertaining to the law of delict. The topic of our trial matters in particular pertained to damages sought by our clients for wrongful arrest, detention, torture and assault of our clients by servants of the Minister of Police, Minister of Home Affairs as well as private security companies.

Natalie was required to attend to the preparation of matters for trial from inception to finalization in court. She also attended to consultations with client with me and as well as the delivery and filing of pleadings at court and opponent attorneys. In particular, she prepared and collated all pleadings, notices, discovery as well as interlocutory applications with a view to bring a matter to the status of trial readiness for trial. Natalie, who is very familiar with the workings of both the High Court and Magistrates’ Courts in Gauteng, often attended court with me. She made diligent and accurate trial notes and also conducted herself in a very articulate and professional manner at all times. She is a very punctual person and was never late or unprepared for her tasks. She is a skillful drafter of letters and interlocutory applications.
