▪ In Level 2 and Level 3 Reading, students apply what they have learned in Phonics to read INDEPENDENTLY.

Note:Students learn high-meaning words that appear in the story - helps their comprehension when reading the story.
These words usually begin with the letter of the day and are also later used in the WEEK 2 Phonics module.

Sight words are words that students learn by memorizing the spelling (rather than decoding them phonetically).
To aid students’ comprehension and fluency, teach these sight words before reading.

Guide students to read the story as a whole class. If students have trouble decoding or remembering a word, the teacher can tap on the word and have students listen and repeat.
