    Detailed Functionality List

    User Profile

    Every user is given a personalized profile page which includes picture, profile information, personal

    description, personal interests and purpose, and group memberships.

    Members may represent themselves in the community with a picture, through defined profile attributes

    (customizable by client), by entering free text, and by uploading media including videos, images,

    documents and any other file format.

    File posting

    Every user in the Leverage system has the ability to post content of any format (video, music, documents,

    etc.) to their personal profile page or post files to a group they are a part of. Files and discussions can be

    rated by the community.

    Email messages to the community

    Administrators can send email communications to the community either to members within the

    community or to those who have not yet registered. Messaging can be tailored by the administrator.

    Notifications

    Members can choose to be notified by email when matching people join the system. Members can also get

    email or RSS feeds based on subscriptions within group discussions

    Features that encourage adoption

    Users can receive system emails that let you know when matching people are added to the site.

    By copying and pasting a snippet of code into a signature file, a blog, or any other external-facing digital

    medium, a community member can display a dynamic profile card which invites others to join the

    community. Turn on this feature if you would like your users to help you drive awareness and adoption.

    People-Matching

    The system will suggest relevant people matches for you via email (based on both profile and intentions).

    People can also search for people interactively, through the PeopleMap, or by attribute. Leverage

    Softwares matching is two-way, taking into account mutual interests, relevant areas of expertise and

    common profiles. Dynamic peer visualization through AJAX-based PeopleMap

    Search

    The Leverage platform currently supports keyword searching across content (files names and descriptions)

    and people in the system. Through one common search, members may find all of the followingrelevant

    people, groups, forum posts, documents, media files, and meetings within the system.

    Presence

    As people navigate through the community, the system will indicate when another community member is

    online at that time.

    Groups Functionality and Discussion Forums

    The Leverage Community Platform includes a discussion forum system which allows users to post, reply,

    search, engage in discussion, set up meetings, and rate messages. Administrators or users can set up

    discussion groups and can be designated as public or private. Community members must be approved by

    the group owner if they wish to gain access into a private group. In addition, groups and particular

    discussion threads may be subscribed to via email or RSS.

    BlogsEach member of the community may share their ideas through an online web log. Blogs are fully integrated

    into the community platform, so that all posts are keyword-searchable. Community members may post

    comments to any blog, or subscribe to that blog through RSS.

    My Contacts

    All community members may save off any member to their own personal "My Contacts" list, which provides

    them with a centralized place to keep track of those community members who are particularly important to

    them.

    Social Tagging

    Social tags provide each community member with the ability to mark items of interest so that other membermay quickly find the appropriate information. This process empowers community members to, over time,

    create a living knowledgebase index of all information contained within the community.

    Tag Search

    Other individuals within the community may utilize those tags to quickly browse and tag search using atag cloud to quickly find the information which is most important to them.

    Private Messaging

    Users can communicate directly with any other member of the community. Every member in the system is

    given a private in-box which is a repository for your private discussions.

    Interactive Group ChatCommunity members may connect with one another in real-time, through the Interactive Group Chat

    feature. For the community administrator, chat room activity reporting can support archiving.

    Integrated Opinion Polls

    Community administrators may solicit and understand the opinions and ideas of their community members

    by creating and delivering opinion polls. Multiple polls may be activated at one time, and all data is

    collected and summarized in real-time. At the community administrators discretion, poll results may now

    be shared with other members of the community, providing another item to community owners to drive

    activity and increase user adoption.

    Meetings Schedul ing and Calendar Management

    Users can request meetings directly, suggest a time and place, and manage and view their appointments

    and calendar in one central place. All meetings can be uploaded into Outlook.

    Administrator can import a master calendar into the system and limit the times when people can schedule

    meetings. Administrators can also do on-site printing of schedules by individual or by location in the

    system.

    File and Discussion Rating System

    All files and discussion posts can be rated by the community

    List upload to pre-populate community

    Administrator can upload into the system a flat file of people to be invited into the system, and if available,

    any information to pre-populate the profiles

    Community Visibil ity and Search Engine Optimization

    The administrators of Leverage Software systems may determine if they wish their communities to bepublic or private. If these are private, all information is hidden from external search engines and anonymousaccess. However, for those who wish to develop public communities, a number of features have beendeveloped. These include feature visibility configuration and dynamic page titles.

    User Roles Management

    Administrators can customize the roles they want to display within the system. Rights around participationin groups, ability to schedule meetings and ability to request introductions can all be defined by role.

    Targeted sponsorship / advertising engine

    Administrators can create ad units that are featured throughout the site and can include any message

    (combination of image, text and link). These ad units can be used to feature anything from advertiser

    content, sponsor messaging, cross-selling messages, or featured groups within the community.

    These advertising units can be broadcast throughout the site for all users to see, or you can choose to

    show an ad unit to only subsets of the community based on keywords within a members profile.

    Community Activity Reporting (aggregate and drill downs):

    delta between profile and interests)

    Tech-Ed is the main educational event for Microsofts

    increase verified attendance on-site, increase the time spent

    by each attendee at the event, and to continue the

    Tech-Ed Connect, powered by Leverage Software, was the

    online, social networking extension of the event so that

    developers could connect before, during and after the event.
