From Modest Beginnings to Industry LeaderOur founder, Isidor Leviton, opened a small tinsmithing operation in Manhattan in 1906. The modest start-up company produced mantle tips for the gas lighting industry. As electricity grew to become the dominant power source, the company switched gears to produce a pullchain lampholder to hold Edisons new light bulb. Structured Media Enclosures

The 14 Enclosure is the entry level for home networking. This professional grade enclosure creates one distribution point for an apartment or smaller home for all low voltage cables. It accommodates two Pre-Configured Structured Cabling Panels and is built tough to make installation easier and help reduce labor costs. The 28 and 42 Enclosures serve single family homes as command central for communications, education, entertainment, and business needs. They also offer an industry-first riser ready innovation, a time saving improvement for installers in the field. Both the 28 and the 42 Enclosures can easily accommodate DSL and cable Internet modems, networking, cable and satellite video. They also serve VoIP, IPTV, fax, multiple telephone lines, video monitoring cameras, intercom, and distributed audio. By bringing every conceivable technology distribution point together in one place, these enclosures make running cable and managing media both simple and cost effective. Incorporate a hospital grade power quality module for maximum protection from line surges. The 28 Enclosure can comfortably accommodate up to eight distribution modules, depending on selection and density. The 42 Encosure has generous capacity for up to 12 modules, and can also simultaneously accommodate many diverse functions. In larger homes, many contractors specify multiple Structured Media Centers, sometimes separating coaxial cable-based CATV or Satellite TV equipment from the CAT 5e or CAT 6 UTP-based communications and networking equipment. The Extender Brackets provide an additional 2 of depth and enhanced ventilation for the 28 and 42 Enclosures. The Extender Brackets attach between the enclosure and the cover to form a frame which has four 2 deep sheet metal rails with louvers on each side. Media Versatile Panel

The Media Versatile Panel was made for custom retrofits and remodeling. The 24 high steel panel has a securable door and can accommodate a wide variety of Structured Media Distribution Modules and other devices. This sturdy industrial grade panel can be surface mounted or recessed in the wall. In the case of non-standard stud spacing, optional mounting brackets may be used. The Media Versatile Panel is available in a black powder-coat finish. Mounting Brackets

Several different brackets mount a variety of Leviton or other devices and enhance the capability of the Structured Media Centers. The Plastic Single Bracket accepts mounting of any single width Leviton expansion board, such as the phone, data, security or DSL Filter Board within the Structured Media Center. The Plastic Expansion Bracket is a full width bracket that can be populated with up to five Leviton phone, data, security or DSL Filter Expansion Boards. The universal design of the Plastic Data Bracket enables mounting of other manufacturers switches, routers, broadband modems, media converters and FTTH gateways within Levitons Structured Media Centers. The plastic half bracket accepts up to three Leviton single width expansion boards and the removable spines allow for all TLDM board mounting. Universal Security and Shelf Brackets

The Universal Security Brackets allow consolidation and integration of security products into any of Levitons 14, 28 or 42 Structured Media Center Enclosures. The 6 and 12 Universal Security brackets accommodate the widest variety of security alarm panels. The 1 wide Brackets are sold in pairs with self tapping screws and insulating spaces so you can easily attach them to the panels. The Universal Shelf Bracket provides space for security batteries of various sizes as well as other products to be mounted with Levitons 14, 28 or 42 Structured Media Centers. The Bracket comes with four 8 long Velcro strips to strap down products to the shelf, ensuring both vertical and horizontal stability.
