LHCb and its upgrade - Reducing further the UX85/1 beam pipe diameter? A major upgrade of LHCb is scheduled for 2018 (LS2) to run at up to 2*10 33 cm -2 s -1 with a data taking at 40MHz. On the detector side, mainly the tracking devices will be replaced. This gives the possibility to think about increasing the acceptance region for the tracking station in front of the magnet - closer to the beam line. -> will improve considerably the tracking between the VeLo and the Tracking Station after the magnet, having another tracking segment between both!

LHCb and its upgrade - Reducing further the UX85/1 beam pipe diameter?

A major upgrade of LHCb is scheduled for 2018 (LS2) to run at up to 2*1033 cm-2s-1 with a data taking at 40MHz.

Is there any possibility reducing the beam pipe diameter close to the TT station?

Although …• already down at 50mm in diameter• close to on of the LHC injection• HL-LHC• …• Aperture for LHCb were presented 3/2/2009 (M.
