WELCOME TO LIBERTY CLASSICAL ACADEMY!

If you are looking for a school that challenges your children to become

deep thinkers and moral and inspiring influencers in the world, you

have found the right place!

A classical education at Liberty provides students in preschool through

12th grade with a cohesive framework for learning and viewing the

world. The chants, songs and rhymes of the Grammar Stage help the

students happily absorb the basics of each subject area. The compare/

contrast exercises, writing and debates of the Logic Stage help middle

school students develop a deep understanding of each subject. The

analysis/synthesis, discussion, writing, and speaking exercises of the

Rhetoric Stage enable high school students to master the various topics,

form their own reasoned opinions and learn to effectively communicate

those thoughts and opinions through both the written and spoken

word. Liberty is producing students who are able to learn, reason and

communicate!

At Liberty, we don’t stop with educating the mind. Historically, a

classical education has addressed both the mind and the soul. While we

instruct students about all faith backgrounds in order for them to better

understand other perspectives, we instill in students Judeo-Christian

values throughout all their coursework. The Christian faith answers

all of the deep questions of life, “Who am I? Where did I come from?

Why am I here?” By integrating the Christian worldview into all of our

teaching, we help students develop compassion and respect for others,

accountability for their actions, a desire to find their gifts and use them

for God’s glory. This is genuinely educating the soul.

As we see our students perform at the top levels of standardized tests

and college entrance exams such as the ACT and SAT, and as we watch

them demonstrate compassion and service towards others, it’s clear that

Liberty Classical Academy is building moral leaders for tomorrow and

lives that inspire. Let’s work together to make your child one of them!

WHAT IS “SALVE DEUS” AND “MORNING ASSEMBLY?”

“Salve Deus” in Latin means “Good day, be well, God” and it is our morning gathering for all of our Lower School students. At Salve Dues, we worship, pray, recite the Pledge of Allegiance and share announcements. Parents are always welcome to attend Salve Deus in the Gym on Mon/Wed/Fri. “Morning Assembly” is our Middle/Upper School morning worship, nuntium and announcement time in the Gym on Tues/Thurs and parents are always welcome.

IF MY STUDENT IS ABSENT OR TARDY, WHO DO I NOTIFY?

Please call the general phone number (651-772-2777) and dial “1” for attendance. Our school nurse will track your students attendance through RenWeb.

WHAT IS A “NUNTIUM?”

The “Nuntium ex Corde” is “a message from the heart” that is shared by an upper school student with the rest of the student body. It is meant to do the following: Bring glory to God by honoring Him and His Word; To bring encouragement and exhortation to our students and staff by closely examining God’s Word together; To provide an opportunity to share the working of the Lord in their own life. Share in the Nuntiums Tuesday and Thursday during Morning Assembly.

WHAT IS THE TUESDAY E-NEWS AND WHY SHOULD I READ IT?

The e-News is the weekly email communication from Liberty to parents. The eNews points you to the Liberty Parents page on our website for the most up-to-date information on school events, news and happenings. We recommend you bookmark the Liberty Parents page and refer to it on a weekly basis.

HOW WILL I BE ALERTED OF A SNOW DAY?

Liberty will send you a notification text alert to your cell phone as well as send a school-wide email, and update the school homepage.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN SPIRIT WEAR DAY AND NON-UNIFORM DAY? HOW OFTEN DO THESE OCCUR?

A Spirit Wear day is a day where we set our regular uniform aside and dress in Spirit Wear. Spirit Wear is official Liberty logoed attire that can be purchased on the Spirit Wear section of the website. These days are usually during the following events: Homecoming Week, Winter Week, Scholarship Celebration and the Last Day of School.

A Non-Uniform Day occurs on the first Friday after the end of each quarter. Students earn the reward by having a 90% teacher and parent signature on their Homework Assignment Sheet (HAS) or Notebook (HAN).

Please see the uniform policy for guidelines.

CAN MY CHILD BRING THEIR CELL PHONE TO SCHOOL?

Cellphones are not to be used during school hours (8:10-3:10). We recommend they are powered off and kept in a backpack during the day. If cellphones are found during the day, they will be taken and returned to the parent after the school day. See the Student Handbook for details.

HOW DO I VOLUNTEER?

Parents are a vital and valuable part of our Liberty community. We welcome your involvement! Fill out the Volunteer Interest form on the Parents web page and watch the Volunteer section of the e-News for ways to serve our school.

HOW DO I ORDER HOT LUNCH?

We created a step-by-step video to show you how on the Liberty Parents/Resources page. To order hot lunch, go to the RenWeb portal and you will be charged via FACTS.

MY CHILD HAS BEEN SICK. WHO DO I NOTIFY?

Please call the nurse on site, Paul Miehlke. If your child has had a fever or vomiting, you must keep the child at home for 24 hours to prevent the spread of germs and possible virus.

WHERE DO I FIND OUT ABOUT ATHLETIC EVENTS?

You can access the Athletic Calendar, School Calendar and Holiday Calendar all on this page: https://libertyclassicalacademy.org/calendar/
