Librarian’s Report

My first report of the year and I have good news. The GVEA has agreed to help us with our technology crisis. They are going to buy us a new Server and install it. I don’t know much else at this time but so far this will save the library and the City approx. $10,000 Yeah!!!

Presently I am working on a Technology Plan that has to be turned in to the State Library and the E-Rate Coordinators. This is a requirement for our E-Rate which provides approx. 70% of all our phone and Internet bills. The Technology Plan is supposed to help us make goals of where we want to go and where we need to go when it comes to technology. We have to come up with a budget for all of our Technology needs. Thankfully I have already done part of this when I wrote the Good Cents Grant.

I have been working on my class again. It is taking me a long time but I am getting through it. They say I have 3 years total to accomplish it, but I hope to be done much sooner.

The library has been making a lot of book purchases lately so come checkout the new books. We put the new books on display for all to see.
