INTRODUCTION:

The college has a spacious and fully automised library, enriched with different

The library of the college is well furnished with adequate facilities to meet the

needs of the curriculum. The library is enriched with reference books, rare

publications like Wealth of India series, encyclopedias, back dated journals, e-

learning resources like e-books, e-journals, NDigital library, DELNET, InfoTrac

Pharmaceutical Collection, Bentham and NPTEL etc. The library is provided

with Wi-Fi facility and language laboratory. The library is also enriched with

hard copies of national and international journals, periodicals, books on

personality development and general knowledge to meet the demands of the

users.

OBJECTIVES OF LIBRARY:

1. To become hub of the knowledge and heart of college and disseminate knowledge as widely as possible.

2. To facilitate creation of new knowledge.

3. To facilitate optimal use of knowledge by all staff and students.

4. To ensure easy access to the facilities available to all staff and students.

5. To encourage and foster reading habit among staff and students.

6. To participate effectively in the teaching-learning programmes of the college.

FUNCTIONS OF LIBRARY:

1. To ensure that the library functions as an effective learning and information centre for the students and faculty.

2. To conduct regular meetings after every 04 months and discuss various issues of library.

3. To facilitate upgradation of library including purchase of books, journals etc.

4. To ensure optimal utilization library budget.

5. To ensure that the library resources are effectively utilized by the students/faculty of the college, besides sharing the information of its resources amongst the other colleges so that the library resource is utilized by other colleges also.

6. To review periodically the performance of the library and the use of the various books and journals available by the students/faculty, which may help in further planning.

7. To harmonise the functioning of library relating software installation, data generation, man-power needs, timings, resources, etc.

8. To develop and carry out feedback system and its analysis and take necessary actions.

STANDARD OPERATING PROCEDURE FOR ISSUE OF BOOKS:

1. For issuing the books, every student should carry Library Card provided by the library, on which details of the students is mentioned.

2. The librarian shall give her a book issue card of that particular book which she demands.

3. The student should duly sign the book issue card after writing her name date of issue on it.

4. Before issuing the book, it is barcode sticked on it is scanned for its automatic entry of issue in Autolib software

5. The book issue card is kept in the respective students Library card.

6. The particular book is issued to the student for maximum period of one week.

7. Students should return the books within specified period (01 week), after this period fine of two rupees per day will be charged.

8. Students are allowed to issue maximum two books on the library card.

9. Reference books are issued on the I cards of students for the same day.

10. After returning the book from the student, librarian should check that, the book is returned in time or not and is in the same status as it was during the issue.

11. Again the respective barcode for the book is scanned and entered as ‘return’ in the Autolib software.

12. Then the librarian should sign on the respective book card and the book is kept in the particular book shelf.
