Step by Step Guide:

1. Open your browser (Firefox, Internet Explorer, Edge, Safari) and go to the library's homepage - http://sechelt.bc.libraries.coop/. 2. Select Online Resources on the Menu bar.

3. Click on Complete List of Databases.

4. You will be taken to database list.

Step by Step Guide:

5. Scroll down till you see Ancestry Library Edition and click on the blue text.

6. The Ancestry Library Edition Homepage will open.

7. If you are new to family history

research, start at the Learning Center where you will find information to help you begin your genealogical journey.

8. In the Learning Centre you will find research guides in PDF format that cover the following areas: Getting started, Census, Beyond the basics, Immigration, Military, and Ethnic. These free Research Guides deal with specific topics that can help you focus your research. Keep in mind that some of the guides refer to features not available in Ancestry LE and most of them deal with US records. However, the information they contain can often be applied to your own searches.

Step by Step Guide:

9. If you are already familiar with Ancestry, you can: search for records, download charts or forms, browse new collections, or search the message boards (you can read content, but not post)

10. There are many different kinds of resources to explore aside from official records, such as maps, photographs, church histories, & various directories (cities, schools, professional, telephone.) 11. If you are interviewing relatives in order to learn more about your family's history, use some of the suggestions found in the Ancestry Support Center: http://bit.ly/2rGbdgo. They also supply some questions: http://bit.ly/2Bqs6eD 12. To keep your research at hand while on the road doing research or visiting relatives, consider downloading the Ancestry.com app (iOS, Android, Windows.) The only drawback is that you can't link this to the Library edition, so you'll have to input any info you learn.
