In the name of Allah, the most Beneficent and the most Merciful. First of all we would thank Almighty Allah, without His help we could not have accomplished anything.

We would also like to thank to our teachers and our parents who prayed enc helping and supporting us during our project-work. Also we would like to thank our family and friends especially our respected parents, for their never ending love and support to us, at all times and during the building for our project.

We hope this project to be of great assistance for everyone who read or run it.

Introduction to Database:

Database is a collection of related data to a particular topic or subject. The database stores information in the form of tables that are somehow related to each other and provide detailed information about the concerned things. Information that database stores can be anything it can be about the personal information of a group of people working together as for example library members, students of a school, colleges or university.

7

Page 8: Library project

Existing System:

To store data and information it was stored in the form of registers. It was unsuitable and was time taking. It took longer time to find the data when needed.

Problem Faced by the Existing System:

As the owner of “LIBRARY” I had faced many problems due to previous system. It was difficult to collect data was copied in different files. It was difficult to manage the workers and sometime I had lost many important data of students.

8

Page 9: Library project

Proposed System:

In order to solve the problem of existing system, the concept of a new system was introduced.

Some advantages of new system are as under.

Advantages of Proposed System:

In this computerized system I can easily access the record and make changes in it easily.

Data Consistency:

Where any change takes place in any field of table it will change in the whole form.

Flexibility: This computerized data base saves time and it require less

time.

Shareable Data: Data easily share in this computerized system.

Independent Data: In this computerized system data is not dependent on each

other

User Friendly: This database is user friendly. I learn easily because it is

English like language.

This designed database system is accurate for the editing and retrieval of data. The data saved in computer can be accessed any time. This system contains records of books. This system is user-friendly.

In future we can easily edit and enter new data. And can also enter new entities and attributes if needed.

It is easier to add and subtract new data in the entity because it is friendlier than the file processing system.

We can find data more frequently and in less time than file processing system. It will work faster and will help more.
