1Queen Choral Festival and Competition

The International Choral Festival Queen of the Adriatic Sea is a competitive event that takes place in Cattolica and in some wonderful places of Romagna Region. The Festival is part of theRimini International Choral Competition, a competitive festival which takes place the last week of September of every year.The festival programme includes the Competition at the magnificent Cattolica Queens Theatre (Teatro della Regina), a concert at the historic Cathedral of St. Leo, as well as a common service to be sung at the Catholic Church.Not only concerts but also the opportunity to stay on the Adriatic Coast, in particular on the beach of Cattolica, renowned throughout the world for its fine sand and for the quality of its waters that has made it possible, for the seventeenth time, the assignment of the blue flag. The variety of places selected for the performances, the numerous events and the extremely rich repertoire make this Festival not only one of the most spectacular international choral festivals but also a unique opportunity of mutual and fruitful exchange among different musical cultures.

Il Festival Internazionale di Canto CoraleQueen of the Adriatic Sea una manifestazione competitiva che si svolge a Cattolica ed in alcuni magnifici luoghi dellentroterra romagnolo. Il Festival parte delRimini International Choral Competition, festival competitivo che si tiene a fine Settembre di ogni anno. Il programma del Festival prevede il Concorso presso il magnifico Teatro della Regina di Cattolica, un concerto presso lo storico Duomo di San Leo, nonch una Messa comune per i cori da cantarsi presso una chiesa di Cattolica o di Rimini.Ai concerti che si svolgono in questi luoghi si affianca la possibilit di soggiorno presso la Riviera Adriatica, in particolare sulla spiaggia di Cattolica, rinomata in tutto il mondo per la finezza della sua sabbia e per la qualit delle sue acque che ne hanno decretato, per la diciassettesima volta, lassegnazione della bandiera blu.

La variet dei luoghi delle esibizioni, oltre a quella degli eventi proposti, e il vastissimo repertorio presentato pongono il Festival non solo come una delle pi spettacolari manifestazioni internazionali della coralit ma anche come irripetibile momento dincontro di diverse culture musicali. 4Il Teatro della Regina

Inaugurato il 14 gennaio 1996 con un concerto del soprano Katia Ricciarelli, il Teatro della Regina il primo teatro-teatro progettato e costruito ex novo in Italia nel dopoguerra. Realizzato in tempi da record, solo nove anni, il nuovo teatro di Cattolica si offre come simbolo dellimpegno che la citt riserva alla cultura come strumento di crescita civile. La pianta del teatro ripropone lo schema classico a ferro di cavallo, tipica dei teatri detti allitaliana. I due ordini di palchi, coronati da un capiente loggione, da considerarsi in realt come un terzo ordine di palchi, abbracciano la platea fasciata di legni biondi, il cui impiego rende lacustica semplicemente perfetta. Larchitetto Pier Luigi Cervellati ha saputo coniugare con estrema eleganza e modernit lo schema base del teatro allitaliana con la funzionalit e la versatilit richiesta ad una moderna macchina per spettacoli. Il teatro dispone di 700 posti, altri 200 sono ricavati nel lussuoso ridotto sottostante, sede di incontri e convegni. Il palcoscenico, largo 12 metri e profondo 10, dotato di un golfo mistico capace di ospitare orchestre fino a 50 elementi. La particolarit del golfo quella di essere mobile e di poter essere elevato al livello del palcoscenico aumentandone notevolmente la superficie. Arredi, tende e poltrone, di un bel colore smeraldo, sono firmate in esclusiva dalla prestigiosa ditta Frau.

5The Queens Theatre

Opened in January 1996 with a concert by soprano Katia Ricciarelli, the Queens Theatre is the first theatre designed and built from scratch in Italy after the war. Built in record time, only nine years, the new theatre is offered like a symbol of engagement that the city reserves to the culture as a tool for civil growth. The plan of the theatre is the classic horseshoe-shaped, typical of those Italian theatres. The two orders of theatre boxes, crowned by a large gallery, to be considered in fact as a third order of boxes, embrace the audience with a bandage of blond woods, whose utilization makes the sound just perfect. The architect Pier Luigi Cervellati has combined with extreme elegance and modernity, the basic scheme of the Italian theatre with the functionality and versatility required to a modern car for shows. The theatre has 700 seats, another 200 for meetings and conferences are placed in the luxurious reduced below the main site. The stage, 12 meters wide and 10 deep, can accommodate orchestras up to 50 players . The particularity of the space for the orchestra is to be mobile and able to be elevated to the level of the stage, greatly increasing the surface. Furniture, curtains and sofas, of a beautiful emerald colour, are signed exclusively by the prestigious firm Frau.

6La Cattedrale di San Leo

Situata al limite della rupe, la cattedrale di San Leone fu iniziata nel 1173 ad opera di maestranze romaniche guidate da architetti emiliano-lombardi nel corso del Duecento con aggiunte gotiche. Lingresso, come nella vicina Pieve, non in facciata ma su un fianco, sormontato dai busti di San Leone e di San Valentino. Sia lesterno che linterno sono in pietra arenaria concia e levigata, linsieme, sia allinterno che allesterno semplice ed austero. Lunico elemento decorativo sono i bei capitelli, in parte di spoglio, corinzi del III sec d.C. e in parte romanici, di cui i pi antichi rappresentano i simboli del cristianesimo primitivo; anche le colonne sono di spoglio. La pianta della chiesa a croce latina, affiancata da due navate minori divise in quattro campate; il transetto porta allalto presbiterio tri-absidato, innalzato su unampia cripta a sua volta suddivisa in cinque navatelle. Nellabside della cripta era collocato il sarcofago con le spoglie di San Leone, oggi per se ne conserva solo il coperchio con liscrizione, datato al VI secolo.

7The San Leo Cathedral

Situated on the edge of the cliff, the Cathedral of San Leone was begun in 1173, a majestic Romanesque work guided by Emilian-Lombard architects over the course of the 13th century with Gothic additions. The entrance, like the nearby Parish Church, is not in the faade but on the side, overhung by busts of San Leone and San Valentino. Both the exterior and interior are in smooth, tan sandstone and together simple and austere. The unique decorative element are the beautiful capitals, partially bare Corinthian from the 3rd century A.D. and partially Romanesque, of which the oldest represent primitive Christian symbols; even the columns are bare. The layout of the church is Latin-cross, with two minor naves to the sides divided in four spans; the transept leads to the high tri-apse presbytery, risen over a large vaulted crypt subdivided into five little naves. In the apse of the crypt was the sarcophagus with the remains of San Leone; today, however, it holds only the cover with inscription, dating back to the 6th century.

Musica Choir - Finland

The Musica Choir was founded under the aegis of the Jyvskyl University Department of Musicology in 1977 and has been conducted by the composer Pekka Kostiainen. During its over 35 year history the choirs repertoire is wide, taking in folk, Renaissance and Baroque music, sacred works and contemporary music. This last has always been part of the Musica Choirs repertoire because one of the leading goals is to serve as living musical culture instrument for contemporary composers. A crucial part of the choirs training consists of regular voice training with Minja Niiranen. Including its harmony the Musica has won recognition for its interpretation of the musical moods and texts. As an indication of this the Musica was rewarded with 3 gold stamps in the Tampere Vocal Music Festival 2013. The latest international choir festival partaken was in Olomouc, Czech Republic 2012 in which the choir was chosen as The Absolute Winner of the festival. The Musica has had the privilege to record music composed by its conductor in Alba Records Kostiainen conducts Kostiainen recording series.

Il Musica Choir stato fondato sotto legida dellUniversit di Jyvskyl, Dipartimento di Musicologia, nel 1977, ed stato diretto dal compositore Pekka Kostiainen. Durante i 35 anni di esistenza del Coro il suo repertorio diventa molto vasto contenendo musica folk, musica rinascimentale e barocca, brani sacri e musica contemporanea. Questultima ha sempre fatto parte del repertorio del Musica Choir, perch il suo ruolo principale quello di servire come vivo strumento musicale per i compositori contemporanei. La parte cruciale della formazione del Coro consiste nello sviluppo e nel miglioramento regolare della voce insieme a Minja Niiranen. Il Musica Choir si guadagnato molti riconoscimenti per le sue doti vocali ed interpretative. La prova di questa abilit sono sicuramente le tre Medaglie dOro al Festival Musicale Vocale di Tampere nel 2013. Lultimo Festival internazionale a cui il Coro ha partecipato stato a Olomouc, Repubblica Ceca nel 2012, dove stato premiato come vincitore assoluto del festival. Musica Choir ha avuto il privilegio di registrare musica composta dal suo direttore per Alba Records, in una serie di registrazioni chiamta Kostiainen conducts Kostiainen.

Childrens Choir TRALLALA was founded in 2004 in Grammar school for Polish speaking pupils in esk Tn Czech Republic. The main goal of the founder and the director of choir Beata Brzoska is to bring their pupils to the very special and great side of choir music and to discover possibilities of their own voices and body language. Children have the possibility to stay in the choir also after graduating the school until 18th year of life. Nowadays there are about 70 young singers in the choir divided into two groups. The concert choir consist about 35 selected pupils. Choir have been joining regularly on various festivals and competition in the country and has also has some experience from foreign competitions. The most important success are Golden medal on the Mundi Cantat competition in 2007 in Sacred music, and Third award on International May Choir Competition in Varna Bulgaria in 2010 and 2014. In 2012 on 60th European Music Festival for Young People in Neerpelt choir won 1st price. The choir won 1st prize on Ohrid Choir Festival 2013 in Macedonia.

Il Coro dei bambini TRALLALA stato fondato nel 2004 presso la Scuola Elementare per bambini Polacchi a esk Tn, Repubblica Ceca. Lo scopo principale della fondatrice e direttrice del coro Beata Brzoska quello di portare i suoi alunni a comprendere il lato speciale della musica corale e a scoprire le possibilit delle loro voci e del linguaggio del corpo. I bambini hanno la possibilit di far parte del coro fino ai 18 anni di et. Attualmente il Coro comprende circa 70 giovani cantanti divisi in due gruppi. Il gruppo partecipante ai concerti formato da circa 35 alunni scelti. Il Coro partecipa regolarmente a diversi Festival e Concorsi nel suo paese e ha esperienze anche con Concorsi allestero. Il suo successo pi importante stata la Medaglia dOro al Mundus Cantat nel 2007, nella categoria Musica Sacra, e il terzo premio al Concorso Corale Internazionale a Varna, Bulgaria, nel 2010 e 2014. Nel 2012 al 60th Festival Europeo Corale Giovanile a Neerpelt il Coro ha vinto il primo premio, cos come al Festival Corale Internazionale di Ohrid, Macedonia, nel 2013.

The Tianle choir was formally established in May 2010. Actually it contains about 130 members. The Tianle choir participates every year in more than 40 performance. The choir has already won 10 awards in competition of district level. On April 2014, in Taiwan, the choir has won a golden medal in an important International Choral Festival and Competition.

Il Coro Tianle stato fondato ufficialmente nel Maggio del 2010. Attualmente formato da circa 130 membri. Il coro Tianle partecipa ogni anno a pi di 40 concerti. Il Coro ha vinto 10 premi a concorsi corali di livello distrettuale. Ad Aprile del 2014, a Taiwan, il Coro ha vinto una Medaglia dOro ad un Festival e Concorso Corale Internazionale.

The childrens choir Le Allegre Note was founded in 2000 like a school project. In more than 14 years of its activity the choir (which later became youth choir) have had more than 300 concerts and performances in many different cities. Among the events of major significance we remember: 1) January 2005: Le Allegre Note was invited to sing the soundtrack of the famous Italian film La vita bella by Roberto Benigni. 2) October 2008: the Choir presented Te Deum by H. Berlioz directed by Maestro Claudio Abbado. 3) 2009: debut in the panorama of opera with the Bohme and Tosca. 4) May 2010: a concert for the Ministry of Education, University and Research in occasione of the National Day of Music at Rome. 5) August 2010: Carmina Burana at Rimini with the percussionists of Santa Cecilia. 6) April 2013: the absolute winner at the 5th International Competition Citt di Treviso with the maximum of marks. 7) May 2013 and 2014: the absolute winner in the Competition for Childrens Choirs Citt di Faenza.

Il coro a voci bianche Le Allegre Note nasce nel 2000 come progetto scolastico. In oltre 14 anni di attivit il coro (che si poi sviluppato anche come coro giovanile) ha tenuto oltre 300 concerti e spettacoli in numerose citt. Tra gli eventi di maggiore rilevanza ricordiamo: 1) Gennaio del 2005 Le Allegre Note sono state invitate a cantare la colonna sonora del film La vita bella di R. Benigni in diretta televisiva su RAI 3 in occasione della giornata della memoria. 2) Ottobre 2008 ha eseguito il Te Deum di H. Berlioz sotto la direzione del M Claudio Abbado. 3) Nel 2009 debutto nel panorama della lirica con Bohme e Tosca. 4) Maggio 2010 Ministero Istruzione Universit e Ricerca Concerto per la Giornata Nazionale della Musica a Roma. 5) Agosto 2010 Carmina Burana a Rimini Percussionisti di Santa Cecilia. 6) Aprile 2013 Primo Premio Assoluto al 5^ Concorso Internazionale Citt di Treviso con il massimo dei voti. 7) Maggio 2013 e 2014 Primo Premio Assoluto al Concorso per Voci Bianche Citt di Faenza.

The Choir Note in Crescendo was founded in 2004 like an emanation of the Choir Le Allegre Note. The Choir has already had more than 300 performances in theatres and concert halls throughout Italy, performing also with symphony orchestras and prestigious groups like The Percussionists of Santa Cecilia. The choir participated in Carmina Burana by C. Orff in Italy and in TV transmissions. In 2007 the Choir won the First Price in Competition Voci e Cori Citt di Riccione. Le Note in Crescendo sang in Berlin, Saint Etinne, Chotebor (Czech Rep.), Tarnow (near Krakow, Poland). In 2009 the choir won a Bronze Diploma at the International Competition Citt di Rimini, in the category mixed voices. The youngest members have performed in 2008, in Bologna, the Te Deum by H. Berlioz directed by Maestro Claudio Abbado. The concert was broadcasted by the main Italian TV channel, Rai 1. Le Note in Crescendo is nominated to represent the Emilia Romagna region at the choral performance at EXPO 2015 in Milan.

Il Coro Note in Crescendo nasce nel 2004 come emanazione del Coro Le Allegre Note. Ha tenuto oltre 300 spettacoli in teatri e sale da concerto in tutta Italia, esibendosi anche con orchestre sinfoniche e prestigiose formazioni tra cui i Percussionisti di Santa Cecilia. Hanno sostenuto le parti delle voci bianche nei Carmina Burana di C. Orff sul territorio nazionale ed hanno partecipato a trasmissioni televisive. Nel 2007 ha vinto il Primo Premio al Concorso Voci e Cori Citta di Riccione. Le Note in crescendo hanno cantato a Berlino, Saint Etinne, Chotebor (Rep. Ceca), Tarnow (presso Cracovia). Nel 2009 Diploma di Bronzo al Concorso Internazionale Citt di Rimini, nella categoria Cori a voci miste. I pi giovani tra i componenti, nel 2008 hanno eseguito a Bologna il Te Deum di H.Berlioz, sotto la direzione del M Claudio Abbado. Il concerto stato trasmesso da Rai 1. Le Note In Crescendo sono state designate a rappresentare lEmilia Romagna allinterno delle manifestazioni corali di EXPO 2015.

Semper Iuvenes Torun Music School Youth Choir has been working under Renata Szerafin-Wjtowicz directorship since September 1997. It actively participates in artistic activities of the Music School and many local events in its hometown, giving concerts and embellishing main ceremonies with music. The choir takes part in school composers concerts, performing young composers premiere pieces. Although the primary repertoire of Semper Iuvenes consists of a capella music, the choir also sung pieces with orchestra, e.g. Missa Criolla by A. Ramirez, Gloria by A. Vivaldi. In 2010 the choir recorded a CD with Christmas carols. Semper Iuvenes has toured with concerts in Greece, Belgium, Germany, Holland, Czech Republic, Lithuania. Semper Iuvenes has been awarded many prestigious prizes, including: 2nd Prize in Neerpelt, Belgium 2000, twice Grand Prix in Torun, Poland 2000, 2008, Silver Medal in Preveza, Greece 2001, Silver Medal in Olomouc, Czech Republic 2005, five times 1st Prize in Lodz, Poland 2001, 2002, 2004, 2006, 2010, Gold Medal in Eisiskes, Lithuania 2014.

Il Coro Semper Iuvenes della Scuola di Musica di Torun diretto da Renata Szerafin-Wjtowicz stato fondato nel Settembre 1997. Il Coro partecipa alle attivit artistiche della Scuola di Musica ed a tanti eventi locali della sua citt tenendo concerti ed accompagnando le principali cerimonie con la sua musica. Il Coro partecipa anche ai concerti della Scuola di Musica presentando molte prime assolute di giovani compositori. Nonostante il suo repertorio principale consista in brani a cappella, il Coro canta anche opere con orchestra, ad esempio la Missa Criolla di A. Ramirez o il Gloria di A. Vivaldi. Nel 2010 il Coro ha registrato un CD di Canti Natalizi. Semper Iuvenes ha tenuto diversi concerti in Grecia, Belgio, Germania, Olanda, Repubblica Ceca, Lituania. Choir Gioia di Cantare consists of over 60 school students, aged 12-16. It was founded in 1994 by Renata Szerafin-Wojtowicz. The choir mostly performs secular and sacred pieces of Polish and European contemporary composers. Its repertoire is enriched by pieces of earlier epochs as well as music inspired by folklore. It also performed vocal-instrumental masterpieces, e.g. Stabat Mater by G. Pergolesi. Choir has won numerous prestigious prizes, recently: Grand Prix Eisiskes, Lithuania 2014, Grand Prix Torun, Poland 2014, Gold Medal and Best Conductor Prize Venice, Italy 2013, Grand Prix and Best Conductor Prize Grudziadz, Poland 2012, Grand Prix and Best Conductor Prize Malcesine, Italy 2010. Besides participation in festivals and contests, it had concerts at Royal Castle in Warsaw, Vienna (Austria), Rome (Mass at St. Peters Basilica, singing at audience with Pope John Paul II in 1998), Florence, Lucca, San Gimignano, Malcesine (Italy), Paris (France), Coimbra (Portugal), Switzerland, Czech Republic, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Spain and Greece.

Il Coro Gioia di Cantare composto da pi di 60 studenti tra i 12 e 16 anni di et. Il coro stato fondato nel 1994 da Renata Szerafin-Wojtowicz e presenta soprattutto la musica sacra e profana di compositori Polacchi ed Europei. Il suo repertorio arricchito da opere di varie epoche storiche cos come dalla musica ispirata dal folklore. Presenta anche brani vocali-strumentali, ad esempio Stabat Mater di G. Pergolesi. Il Coro ha vinto numerosi premi prestigiosi, tra i pi recenti: Grand Prix Eisiskes, Lituania 2014, Grand Prix Torun, Polonia 2014, Medaglia dOro e Premio per il Miglior Direttore Venezia, Italia 2013, Grand Prix e Premio per il Miglior Direttore Grudziadz, Polonia 2012, Grand Prix e Premio per il Miglior Direttore Malcesine, Italia 2010. Oltre alle partecipazioni in vari Festival e Concorsi il Coro ha tenuto concerti in luoghi come il Castello Reale a Varsavia, Vienna (Austria), Roma (Messa nella Basilica di San Pietro dove il Coro ha cantato in udienza per il Papa Giovanni Paolo II nel 1998), Firenze, Lucca, San Gimignano, Malcesine (Italia), Parigi (Francia), Coimbra (Portogallo), Svizzera, Repubblica Ceca, Bulgaria, Lituania, Spagna e Grecia.

Andrea Angelini - Artistic Director - Italy

Born in Bologna, Italy, Andrea Angelini began his piano studies as a child, at the Rimini Lettimi School. He later earned a Doctorate of Music at Ferraras Frescobaldi Conservatory. His interests led him to the choral field, and he earned a Bachelor studying Liturgical Music at Modena and at the International Art Academy in Rome with Fulvio Angius. He also studied organ at Pesaros Conservatory of Music. Finally he got his PHD in Choral Music at the Cesena Conservatoire of Music. He is the Artistic Director and Conductor of the professional group Musica Ficta Vocal Ensemble that frequently performs in important Festivals in Italy and abroad. For many years, Andrea Angelini has conducted concerts with the choir Carla Amori, in Italy and abroad. He has also conducted the Lithuanian Jauna Muzika Choir, the Belarusian State Choir, the Latvian Ave Sol and the Tudor Consort from New Zealand. He is the Artistic Director and member of the Jury of the international organ competition, Marcello Galanti. He has been member of the Jury at many International Choirs Competitions in Italy, Europe and Asia. He frequently leads choral workshops in Italy and abroad. Recently his Masterclass about the Venetian Renaissance choral music has been presented to the students of the prestigious Liszt Music Academy of Budapest and in Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia) for the Young Choral Academy. He is the artistic director and one of the tutors at the Rimini International Choral Workshop, where he teaches with Peter Phillips of the Tallis Scholars. Mr. Angelini is also the artistic director of the Rimini International Choral Competition and of the Liviu Borlan Choral Competition (Romania). His professional memberships include the Artistic Committee of AERCO (Regional Association of Choirs), ACDA (American Choral Directors Association). He is a regular reviewer for the press. He is the Chief Editor of the International Choral Bulletin (ICB), the membership magazine of the IFCM (International Federation for Choral Music). He has written numerous transcriptions and arrangements for choirs and chamber ensembles. His transcription of Faures Requiem is published by Gelber Hund Verlag of Berlin, who are also publishers of a book of repertoire for organ and violin, edited by Mr. Angelini. For the American CanticaNOVA Publication, he has prepared transcriptions of important Renaissance Motets. He has published his composition with Eurarte and Ferrimontana.

Andrea Angelini ha iniziato presto lo studio del Pianoforte presso il Liceo Musicale Lettimi di Rimini per diplomarsi poi presso il Conservatorio Frescobaldi di Ferrara. Ha studiato anche organo sostenendo gli esami al Conservatorio di Pesaro. Dedicatosi contemporaneamente allattivit corale compie studi di Direzione allAccademia Internazionale delle Arti di Roma ove si diploma con il M Fulvio Angius. Si perfezionato in questa disciplina con Giovanni Acciai e con Peter Phillips dei Tallis Scholar allInternational School of Oakham (Inghilterra). Ha conseguito il diploma in Direzione di Coro al Conservatorio di Cesena. E direttore del Coro Polifonico Carla Amori di Rimini e dellEnsemble professionale Musica Ficta con i quali ha diretto concerti in Italia e allestero. Ha collaborato, come direttore ospite, con il Coro Jauna Muzika a Vilnius, con il Coro Ave Sol a Riga, con il Belarus State Choir e con il Coro Neozelandese The Tudor Consort. E ideatore, Direttore Artistico e membro della Giuria del Concorso Organistico Internazionale Marcello Galanti di Mondaino. E stato membro della giuria di numerosi Concorsi Internazionali Corali e di Organo. E spesso chiamato a tenere corsi di musica corale antica presso prestigiose istituzioni estere. E direttore artistico e docente dei Corsi Internazionali per direttori di Coro organizzati dallAssociazione Musicale Musica Ficta ove insegna con Peter Phillips (The Tallis Scholars). Ha pubblicato trascrizioni per le Case Editoriali Gelber-Hund e Canticanova. Sue composizioni sono pubblicate da Ferrimonatana ed Eurarte. E direttore responsabile di ICB, la Rivista Corale dellIFCM (International Federation for Choral Music). E direttore artistico del Concorso Corale Internazionale di Rimini e del Liviu Borlan Choral Competition (Romania). Rohan De Lanerolle, baritone, has graced the Weill Recital Hall at Carnegie Hall and The Asia Society Hall (New York), The Altadena Amphi-theatre (Los Angeles), The Edwin Evans Hall, the Solihull Arts Complex (UK), The Bentley Music Auditorium & Wisma Tiong Hua Hall (Malaysia), St Pauls Church (Chicago), St Andrews Cathedral (Singapore) and many more. He also performed in Australia, Austria, Maldives and extensively in Sri Lanka. He collaborates frequently with internationally acclaimed Pianists such as Rohan De Silva (USA), Dr Jonathan Clarke, Caroline Jayaratnam & Duncan Honeyborne (UK), Samuel Tan (Malaysia), Michael Nikolov (Austria) & Dhilanthi Fernando (Geneva) & has appeared with Orchestras such as The Christ Church Festival Orchestra & The Sidcup Symphony Orchestra - UK and many more & with conductors James Ross, Jonathan Clarke, Lee Chong Min, Lalanath De Silva, Manilal Weerakoon & Lu Lee Hui singing a wide range of genres from Opera, Operetta, Oratorio, Sacred, Lieder,

Gospel, Broadway, Italian-Neapolitan. His choral work has involved being with the Choir Revelations in 2008 where he contributed to its success in going from the 1st Asian Choir Games in Jakarta to winning Two Championships at the World Choir Games in Austria becoming the 1st Sri Lankan choir to achieve this prize. He was also vocal coach for two other male vocal ensembles for the world choir games - recently with the Old Joes Choir who won a Championship in the Barbershop category and a silver diploma in the sacred music category in Riga, Latvia. He conducts various workshops in Sri Lanka for choirs. As an adjudicator, Rohan is a new face: he has been on the jury for International singing competitions such as Voyage of Songs in Zhuhai, China 2011and in Hong Kong 2014, The 1st Asian Cantate, Bangkok 2013 and some more.

Ilario Muro - Member of the Jury - Italy

Ilario Muro, was born in Vercelli where he studied at the Viotti School of Music. His introduction to singing came at the age of six, when he joined the treble voice choir at San Cristoforo church, Vercelli, under the guidance of the Dominican friars. He was a pupil of the late musician and composer Father Dante Destefanis. He subsequently joined the San Cristoforo polyphonic choir, becoming Choir-Master at the age of just eighteen. He moved to Rimini in 1988 and became Director of the Youth Choir founded three years previously, in 1985, at the parish church of Ges Nostra Riconciliazione; the choir later took the name Jubilate Deo. Mr Muro attended courses held by Marco Gemmani, by Giovanni Acciai and courses in Gregorian Chant and Semeiotics held by Professors Oscar Chiodini and Massimo Pacifero at the Santa Cecilia Diocesan School of Music, Rimini. Mr Muro has also taken part in each of the annual Rimini International Choral Workshops for choristers and choir directors, held by Andrea Angelini and by Peter Phillips, Director of the Tallis Scholars. With the Jubilate Deo Choir, Mr Muro performs almost exclusively sacred music, specialising in Renaissance polyphonic music. Over the years he has directed the choir in numerous concerts and liturgical celebrations in Rimini and in many other cities in Italy, including St Peters Basilica and Santa Susanna church, Rome; Milan Cathedral; Basilica of San Francesco, Assisi and many others. He has taken part in international events including the Diocesan Pilgrimage to Rome in the Jubilee year 2000 where the Jubilate Deo Choir formed part of the Diocesan Choir which sang Mass in St Peters Square.

Passato al coro polifonico fondato nel frattempo sempre in San Cristoforo, ne divenne il direttore a soli diciotto anni. Dal 1988 si trasferito a Rimini ed ha ottenuto la direzione del Coro Gruppo Giovani gi fondato nel 1985 presso la Parrocchia della Riconciliazione, che in seguito ha assunto il nome di Jubilate Deo. Ha seguito corsi con Marco Gemmani, Giovanni Acciai. Ha anche partecipato a tute le edizioni del Rimini International Choral Workshop per direttori di coro e coristi, tenuto da Andrea Angelini e da Peter Phillips, direttore dei Tallis Scholars. Con il Coro Jubilate Deo si occupa quasi esclusivamente di musica sacra, in particolare di polifonia rinascimentale, e in questi anni ha effettuato concerti e celebrazioni liturgiche a Rimini, e nelle principali citt italiane, tra le quali spiccano Roma (S.Pietro, S. Susanna), Milano (Duomo), Assisi (Basilica di S. Francesco), e tante altre, partecipando ad alcune rassegne internazionali e ad eventi come il Pellegrinaggio Giubilare del 2000 in qualit di coro della diocesi di Rimini (Messa in Piazza San Pietro).

Gilberto Del Chierico - Member of the Jury - Italy

Gilberto Del Chierico has studied music at the Conservatory G. Rossini in Pesaro and L. Campiani in Mantova where he graduated brilliantly in Singing. He studied piano, choral music and choral conducting, training in choral field with Maestro Bruno Zagni and with Maestro Romano Gandolfi. He made his debut at the Theatre Pergolesi in Jesi as tenor soloist in La Giara with Marche Philharmonic Orchestra. This experience is followed by lAndrea Chenier, Merry Widow, Missa Brevis by Mozart and many concerts. He collaborated with the Choir of the Italian Radio-Television of Milan, the Marche Lyric Choir, the Madrigals from Laboratory 87 Choir (directed by Paola Urbinati), with whom he participated in prestigious international Competitions

like Tours (France), Riva Del Garda (2nd place in category Mixed Chamber Choirs), Athens (Greece), 1st place and Golden Medal in category Mixed Chamber Choirs - Grand Prix in the International Choir Competition in Athens, Rome Music Project 96, concerts for Rossini Opera Festival and Ravenna Festival. He attended courses of vocal interpretation with Maestro Alberto Zedda at the Music Conservatory Rossini in Pesaro, Opera Oratory at the Music Academy in Pescara with Elio Battaglia, Master Class of singing held by Maestro William Matteuzzi and Maestro Gianni Raimondi. As a director he conducted some concerts in Germany, Czech Republic, France, Greece, Switzerland. He directed the Strings Orchestra of Oetigheim (Germany), The Percussionists of the S. Cecilia Academy in Rome in Carmina Burana and the Marche Apennines Orchestra in Requiem KV626 by Mozart. He conducts the Lyric Choir Regina in Cattolica since its foundation. He leaded to lyric singing the tenor Cristiano Olivieri, the bass Mirco Palazzi, the contraltist Angelo Bonazzoli and the mezzo-soprano Daniela Bertozzi, who are today very well-known artists.

Ha collaborato con il Coro Rai di Milano, il Coro Lirico Marchigiano, i Madrigalisti del Coro Laboratorio 87 (Direttore Paola Urbinati), con il quale partecipa a prestigiosi concorsi internazionali, tra cui Tours (Francia), Riva Del Garda (2 posto categoria Cori da camera misti), Atene (Grecia),1 Posto e medaglia doro categoria Cori da camera misti (16 elementi), Grand Prix all International Choir Competition di Atene, Roma Progetto Musica 96, concerti per il Rossini Opera Festival e Ravenna Festival. Ha frequentato corsi di interpretazione vocale con il Maestro Alberto Zedda allAccademia Rossiniana di Pesaro, Opera Lied Oratorio all Accademia Musicale pescarese con il Elio Battaglia, Master Class di canto tenute dai Maestri William Matteuzzi e Gianni Raimondi.
