Important: Check with the certificate programs offered at the Community Colleges….they often have similar programs for a lot less money…………….

Choice #3: Community College Certificate(Trade School)
Certificate programs are trade school programs………… Completion of the program earns the certificate of completion (like a diploma) Advantage: Proof of skills when applying for jobs……….. Over 100+ certificate programs available at MJC and Delta

Choice #4: Community College Transfer
• No SAT or ACT Test Required
• Community Colleges require their own placement test ----------English -----------Math • Apply in April or May
• Costs: $36 per unit……..$540 tuition per semester full time $1,700 in books per year $2,240 per year

#1= Apply in sometime starting April
#2= Take a placement test (Math and English)
#3= Attend Orientation class (select classes)
#4= Receive registration date to enroll in classes
Hot Tip for Community Colleges
It’s challenging to get all the classes you need to transfer in 2 years………
Apply to both Delta and Modesto Junior College, twice the chance to get needed classes

• Testing fee waivers are available to qualified seniors. The College Board and ACT set standards for availability.
• Fee waivers for college applications are also available to qualified seniors when completing your college application online. Most colleges have their fee waiver built into their application when applying online.

• Perfect back up plan: Apply to the Community College -----free to apply -----if your other plans don’t work out……..you have something to fall back on! -----Community Colleges offer job training…or you can transfer to the college/university, or go in the ,military, etc.
