As I sit here to write this final edition for 2011, I am looking back on a year

In Training - A daily process

While every day here at The River, I am learning new things and how I

can do life better with the team and with the people we serve. But

over the last few weeks, I have been especially privileged . Firstly, l

was invited down to Bangkok to do some CCP training through OMS

and my Regional Director . It was a great week of challenge, with a

bit of relaxing and plenty of fun. While I was in Bangkok, I got to see

the Socceroos play Thailand, which was an awesome experience.

The training was led by a man, who for 10 years has been working all

across the African continent with OMS and has planted more than

churches planted just last year. Who knows how many believers there

will be next year?

new work down in The South of Thailand. I had known a little about

the topics being discussed but there was a whole new world of infor-

mation and thinking that opened my eyes last week. We have been

given so many tools to help us connect to the people we are working

with and we are praying that as we share them, people will see the

FOR THOSE OF YOU WHO PRAY:

Praise for God’s blessing through The River Team - we have had an amazing year which has been

busy but God-filled. Our team has grown so much and are ready for some time off before the

next exciting chapter serving God here in Hangdong.

Please pray for the whole River Team - Please pray for our Christmas ministry and celebrations.

Please pray for everyone’s ongoing health and safety as they travel during this Christmas and

New Year.

Praise God for His love and the things he has been doing in my life this year. Would you please

pray and consider helping me to raise the necessary support that I need to continue to serve

here in Thailand?

Supporting Shayne

Here are a few of the things The River Team have been up to

in the last few months.

In August, we celebrated Mother’s Day with over 200 mothers

and families at the centre in Hangdong. As well as that the

team were busy working in schools and in the community.

In September, the highlight

for many members of our

team, was joining with the

many Hillsong church part-

ners working all over Asia.

The conference was held in

Jakarta and everyone had

a great time, but it was an

exhausting few days. After conference, it was back to work

here in Hangdong, in The South and the mountains and there

have been many incredible stories of opportunities and bless-

ings. At times our house in The South has been full to overflow-

ing with many wanting to connect with our team through mi-

cro-enterprise activities.

In October, it is mid year school holiday time, so things gener-

ally slow down a little, but not here. It was the end of rainy sea-

son and we had just about got through with no flooding, but

then the dams broke in the north and we had our first flood of

the year. It was the worst we have seen at The River, but with

swift action, we were very lucky to escape any damage, un-

fortunately many others in Thailand have been devastated by

the recent floods.

Shine Ladies Training - Our River

ladies enjoyed a week of pam-

pering and training in the very

successful Shine program. They all

loved being princesses for the

week.

We also ran a kids camp

and had over 50 kids come

along and our Thai Team did

an excellent job of running

the whole thing themselves.
