THE SEVEN LIFE PROCESSES

Page 4: LIFE PROCESSES

1All living

things move

Page 5: LIFE PROCESSES

Animals move their bodies to get from one place to another.

Plants turn towards the light and their roots grow down into the soil.

Page 6: LIFE PROCESSES

2

All living things

reproduce

Page 7: LIFE PROCESSES

Animals have babies.

New plants grow from seeds.

Page 8: LIFE PROCESSES

3

All living things are sensitive

Page 9: LIFE PROCESSES

All living things respond to changes. Living things notice changes in their surroundings and react to them.

Eg. Plants grow towards the light.

Eg. People react to the temperature around them.

4All living

things grow

Page 11: LIFE PROCESSES

Babies grow into adults.

Seeds grow into plants.

Page 12: LIFE PROCESSES

5

All living things respire

Page 13: LIFE PROCESSES

Plants and animals use the oxygen in the air to turn food into energy.

Page 14: LIFE PROCESSES

6

All living things excrete

Page 15: LIFE PROCESSES

Waste substances must be removed from the body.

Plants and animals both need to get rid of waste gas and water.

Page 16: LIFE PROCESSES

7

All living things need

nutrition

Page 17: LIFE PROCESSES

Food is used to provide energy.

Green plants make their own food using sunlight, water and other nutrients from soil.

Animals eat plants or other animals.
