Child Abuse
Genie “The Wild Child” is an extreme example of child abuse.
Defined as any act that seriously endangers a child’s physical or emotional well being.
Can cause difficulties learning, developing the frontal lobe, and social anxiety.

Parenting Styles Authoritarian: Drill sergeant type style, follows directions because mom/dad said so. Kids often end up unhappy, fearful, or poor communication skills.
Authoritative
Encourages kids to be independent, still have limits and controls (the best form). Kids have self-‐control, cheerful, self-‐reliant.

Neglectful
Uninvolved. Kids are often immature and it is linked to delinquency.
Genie
Indulgent
Highly involved, but place few demands or controls, kids do what they want.
Kids rarely learn respect, no control over behavior, and can become egocentric.

Causes mouth sores, loss of teeth, esophageal ulcers and cancer

Depressive and Anxiety disorders in anorexia Nervoas and Bulimia Nervosa
Bulimia anorectics are most likely to have anxiety and depressive disorders.
