SPECIALIST HIGH SKILLS MAJOR (SHSM)

TRANSPORTATION TECHNOLOGYIn order to meet the high demands in the coming years for quality skilled workers in the Transportation Industry, Lincoln M. Alexander is excited to offer this program. The Specialist High Skills Major (SHSM) at LMASS involves students completing a package of courses that meet the needs of all students with an interest in developing skills in a career in the Transportation Industry. The Transportation Industry acknowledges and supports the program through certification and appropriate industry placements.

In order to complete a SHSM in Transportation Technology students: 1. complete a package of 9 specific credits (see chart below). 2. complete Industry Certification3. obtain job experience (e.g.. co-op work experience, job shadowing, job twinning). 4. document the industry essential skills using the Ontario Skills Passport.5. gain “Reach Ahead Experience” (e.g. through an apprenticeship program or post secondary institution)
