The Personnel and Youth Committees are excited about you meeting our
prospective Minister of Youth. These committees unanimously recommend the
calling of Rachel Fox Oldham as our part-time Minister of Youth. Rachel, and
her husband, Tyler, will be joining our youth on Wednesday evening, July 11,
during LIGHT. This will be a great time for our youth to get to know Rachel and
Tyler. Please encourage your youth to be present!
You will also be able to meet Rachel and Tyler next Sunday morning, July 15.
This is where they will be on Sunday.
8:45 a.m. – Meet and Greet during a Continental Breakfast in the Christian
Life Center (We encourage all ages to attend, not just youth.)
9:30 a.m. – Rachel and Tyler will be present during Youth Sunday School.
10:45 a.m. – Rachel will share her testimony during Morning Worship. We
will vote at the end of the worship service.
If the church votes affirmatively, Rachel will begin her ministry on Wednesday,
August 1. You may pick up Rachel’s resume at either Welcome Center.
On a similar note, how does God want to use you during the next church year at
Fern Creek Baptist Church? There are so many opportunities. There are so
many responsibilities. Your spiritual gifts, talents, and abilities are needed in the
body of Christ. When you don’t use your gifts and abilities another part of the
body has to compensate for you and do the work that you are called to do.
Norma Routt, (Chairperson of our Nominating Committee) and the rest of the
Nominating Committee (Martha Blansette, Sam Frizzell, Dutch Kendall, Terry
Schult, and Chris Towles) would love to hear from you if you have not already
filled out the Nominating Committee survey.
You’ve heard the comparison between the Sea of Galilee and the Dead Sea. It is
still true. Galilee is a lake full of life because it takes in water and gives it out.
Nothing lives in the Dead Sea because, with no outflow, the lake has stagnated.
It is dead! When we do not use our spiritual gifts, talents, and abilities, we are
like the Dead Sea. We are completely stagnant. Can you imagine what FCBC
would be if all of our church members would do what God has designed us to do
in His church and in His kingdom!!
And as always, continue to pray, “Lord, Send a Great Revival!”

homebound members and share the Lord’s Supper with them.

CHILDREN’S MUSIC WEEK

Open to children ages 3 through entering 6th grade

The week will include singing, musical activities, Bible study, and recreation.
This exciting event is open to all children ages 3 through those entering sixth
grade. The younger children will be working toward presenting a program on
Sunday night, July 22, at 6:00 p.m. The older children (grades 2-6) will
present “Truth Works”.
The joint program will be Sunday, July 22, 6:00 p.m. in the sanctuary.
All those attending Music Week are expected to perform with their
group on Sunday. There will be a dress rehearsal, Saturday, July 21,
10:00 a.m. - 12 noon for the older children only (grades 2-6).

Can you believe that the summer is almost over?! We hope you can join us
for our last big event for the summer. On July 21, 2018 from 10:00 a.m to
12:00 noon, we will be having a Tye Dying Party for the Preschoolers!
Bring your own white towel (that will be tye dyed), wear clothes that can
get messy, and get ready to have a blast! Bring your family, your friends,
and your excitement because we are going to have a blast!

MEMORY WALL Our Memory Wall certainly enhances the beauty of our church building.
The time is drawing near to put up the next panel of memory tiles. (The
cross is actually already full for the third panel.) Forms are available at
the Welcome Center in the Sanctuary Foyer if you would like to order a
tile in memory of a loved one. The instructions are on the forms;
however, if you have additional questions, please contact Jodie Towles
(239-0316 ext. 102).
ROCKY’S BEAT
Rocky Hardymon - Minister of Music
We are having a great time during Terrific Tuesdays! We are having 40+
children attending and the volunteers have been very helpful in making the
days run smoothly. Terrific Tuesdays are from 9:00 a.m. - 3:15 p.m. for
children who have completed grades K-5. The cost is $10 per day per child.
Because of Children’s Music Week, we will not have Terrific Tuesday on
July 17th. Our last Terrific Tuesday is July 24. We are having a Backyard
Water Park (bring your t-shirt, bathing suit, and towel.) This activity will
take place at the church. See you there!
Wonderful Wednesdays continue! In case you missed it, it happens every
Wednesday through August 8th. We have music, missions, Bible study, and
crafts. This year’s theme is Candy Bars! This week‘s theme is Reese’s Piec-
es: they may be small, but that doesn’t mean they aren’t incredible. Children
will learn that no matter how small we are, Jesus loves us incredibly! Won-
derful Wednesdays are from 6:30 - 7:20 p.m. and are located in room 107 for
preschoolers and room 204 for grades 1 - 5. We are looking for you!
The 36th annual Children’s Music Week is here! It is next week: July 16 -
20, 2018. It is open to children ages 3 through entering 6th grade (must be 3
by August 1, 2018). This year we will be doing “Truth Works”, a music
production about choosing between right and wrong, and doing what is right
in God’s sight. The week will include singing, musical activities, Bible
study, and recreation. Registration costs $10 for one child, $15 for two
children; $20 for three children. The registration costs cover materials and a
T-shirt. If you have questions, call the church office at 239-0316.
The adult choir continues to rehearse Wednesdays at 7:30 p.m. through the
summer. We need more voices to help all of us to praise the Lord! No
auditions are required.
FERN CREEK / HIGHVIEW UNITED MINISTRIES NEEDS The ministry is needing the following: toilet paper,
shampoo, bar soap, canned fruit and spaghetti sauce. Please
place your donations in the marked bin in the breezeway.
Thank you for helping those in our community. All
donations are greatly appreciated!

We will be joining with our Filipino brothers and sisters as we share in this
delightful evening together. Please wear Hawaiian or colorful attire as we
dine together in a beautifully decorated setting with Hawaiian dinner music.
Please bring a dish or two of food. The church will supply the meat and
drinks. Don’t miss this wonderful evening!
Our Summer Fun Program is in full swing and we are so excited to welcome several new families to our center! While we take a more “laid-back” approach to summer, we want to continue providing a time of routine and ministry to our families.
Our July calendar is filled with many fun and exciting events. The children will be participating in music class and “Soccer Shots” each week. On Tuesdays, the children will attend chapel. We will read favorite Bible stories from the Old Testament such as “Joseph’s Colorful Coat” and “Noah’s Big Boat”.

CDC HAPPENINGS Terri Bosemer - CDC Director
SEEKING Alice Glenn, our Child Development Center Administrative Assistant, will
soon be retiring. Alice has done a great job over these years. We are now
accepting resumes for this part-time position (approximately 15 hours a week).
Applicant must be a spiritually mature Christian and active church member
(preferably of FCBC), have several years of administrative experience, and
have strong computer skills. The applicant should be proficient in Word,
Publisher, and Excel. Interested persons should submit resumes to the CDC

We also need Child Development Center Three and Four-Year-Old Teachers
and a Music Teacher. Applicant must be a spiritually mature Christian, an
