DECLARATION OFLEROY LINDO
I, Leroy Lindo, declare and say:
1. I retired from the San Francisco Police Department
(“Department”) as a
Commander on April 1, 2009 – a position I held since
approximately 2007.
2. I started by career with the Department in 1977 as a Q2
patrol officer, and was in
that position until I promoted to Sergeant in approximately
1989. In 1993 or 1994, I promoted to
Inspector.
3. In approximately 2002, I promoted to Lieutenant, and my last
promotion was to
Commander in approximately 2007.
4. I am an African American male, and at the time of my
retirement I was 56 years
old.
5. In my lengthy tenure with the Department, at various levels
throughout the
Department, I have never witnessed, been a victim of, or been a
part of any institutionalized
racism. To the contrary, the Department does not tolerate racism
or discrimination on any other
