You wake up in your cozy wooden cabin to the beautiful aroma of

cake. The smell wafted under your door and drew you out of bed and

into the kitchen. Your Mother says good morning and plants a gentle

kiss on your forehead. "Come Little Red Cap. Here is a piece of cake

and a bottle of wine. Take them to your grandmother. She is sick and

weak, and they will do her well. Behave yourself on the way, and do not

leave the path, she said.

Your Mother looks at you with gentle eyes and walks to her bedroom. A minute

later she returns to the kitchen with something in her hands. She places on the

table a hand-carved knife and pushes it towards you.

I would never want you to be scared little Red-Cap. Here is your Fathers knife.

He used to leave it with me when he left for work. Now that hes gone, I think he

would smile down from the heavens knowing that his little girl would be protected

by his knife, she said.

You run to your room and put on your red velvet cap that grandma gave you.

Your Mother calls for you to finish your breakfast, after all, who wouldnt want tofinish a piece of cake for breakfast!

Once finished, your mother puts the piece of cake, the bottle of wine, and your

knife into a covered basket and hands it to you. She hugs you good bye and wishes

you luck on your journey. You step outside and start to think about what path you

will take.

You run to your room and put on your red velvet cap that grandma gave you.

You start on your walk and manage to make it all the way to Grandmas

without any troubles along the way.

You each enjoy some cake and then you head back up the path your Mother

had asked you to take. You arrive home and your Mother is elated! What a

good child.

You begin to start towards the woods. This will be so much faster than the long

path that your Mother had asked you to take. Its light outside anyway, what could happen!

While walking, s wolf comes up to you and begins to make small talk. Youve met

lots of nice wolves in these woods, but there are also some not so nice ones that youve heard

of. You chat with him for a bit to test out the waters.

He tells a few jokes and some funny stories, appearing as a nice enough wolf.

Then he asks where you are going. You tell him youre off to your Grandmas which is just

down from here, and he tells you that hes on the way to visit his friend who lives one town

over. The wolf notices a field of flowers to your right.

Do you think your Grandma might like some flowers? We could pick some

together and brighten her day. What do you say Little Red Cap? said the wolf.

What a great idea! You head towards the field.

No, Id rather get to myGrandmas like my Mother told

me to do.

You pick a beautiful bouquet and turn around to show the wolf.

Although, when you turn around, he has disappeared.

The sudden disappearance has made you a little nervous. Was he

maybe up to something? You

You take a shortcut that your uncle had shown you a while ago and when you rush through the door

to Grandmas everything is okay. You lock the door swiftly and curl up into bed with Grandma. You

start to tell her the whole story.

The wolf finally makes it to Grandmas cottage and hears you inside. He decides that he will take you

off guard by coming from an unusual direction. He hops onto the roof and jumps down the chimney.

He slowly sneaks up and eats both you and Grandma.

The wolf looks around and begins to think about what he should do next. There is no one around and

the wolfs stomach was starting to growl.

The woods were pretty empty usually and what was the likeliness of someone walking through them at

the exact time the wolf attacked you. He also noticed that you were completely free of weapons.

He leaps at you in the middle of the woods. You

Pull out the bottle ofwine and swing at him.

Turn and run.

You manage to knock the wolf out. Thank goodness! He now knows where

Grandma lives though, and you have to protect her.

You race through the woods and arrive at Grandmas cottage. You dont wait

to knock and go ahead and burst through the door. Grandma gasps, buttheres no time. What should you do? Lock the door and hide, or make a run

for it with Grandma and try to make it to the nearest town which is pretty

close?

Hide! Make a run for itwith Granny!

You help Grandma out of bed as quickly as you can and head for the coat closet. There is a lock from

the inside and you make sure to grab and knife from Grandmas kitchen. You will be ready if you

have to.

You hear thumping, and the creek of the door being pushed open. The wolf begins sniffing

everywhere. He starts coming towards the coat closet. Will he smell you? You

Luckily for you, the wolf was getting old and had senses that were a little on

the dingy side. He smells around, but when he didnt find anything, he

assumes that you and your Grandma had headed for town.

He sulks out of the cottage and back into the woods. After it is safe, you

and Grandma come out of the coat closet. You each lock the door and

always remember how important it is to avoid the woods. You make it home

safe and sound.

You miss in the midst of all of your rage and fall to the floor beside the wolf.

He looks at you and laughs. Then, he reaches for Grandma and gobbles her

up. Between Grandmas shrieks and your own, a passing huntsman runs into

the cottage. He leaps at the wolf, but the wolf flips around too quickly and

lethally bites the huntsman. The wolf begins chomping down on the

huntsman. You

Attempt torun home.

You and Granny, try to make a run for it, but shes too

weak. Grandma falls to the ground and you cant get her any further.

You hear rustling of leaves and a few growls. What are you going to

do?

Granny insists that you leave her, but you just cant bring

yourself to do it. You sit next to Grandma awaiting your almost

certain fate, when a huntsman comes along the path. He sees the wolf

coming and leaps into battle with the wolf. The wolf bites viciously,

but it eventually is overcome by the huntsmans weapons.

Unfortunately, after the wolf is dead, the huntsman falls

to the ground. He had been injured too badly and dies in front of you.

You and Grandma head back to her cottage and mourn for the man

who didnt even know you, but gave up his life for you. Later you tell

the village and he is honored as a hero.

You begin to run. You turn behind you and see the

giant wolf leaping after you. You can hear his heavy

foot steps and the adrenaline spreads through your

veins. You can feel it. This is the end.

You begin running in different angles and trying to

throw him off his game, but nothing is working. Thewolf finally catches up to you and his giant sharp jaws

close in on you.

The Wolf finishes up his meal, licks his lips, and

heads on his way with a full stomach. Your Mother

never learns what happened to you and your

Grandmother and her mourn your death every year.

You start your trip through the woods and soon realize that you are not alone in

these woods. A wolf comes up to you and begins to make small talk.

He first comments on the knife in your basket. What a beautiful knife, he says.

Then he asks where you are going. You tell him youre off to your Grandmas which

is just down from here, and he tells you that hes on the way to visit his friend who

lives one town over. The wolf notices a field of flowers to your right.

The Wolf thinks about your answer and that big knife inside your basket. He decides that its

probably better to gobble up some other little girl in the forest, or possibly just another trustingpasserby. Even though eating two meals sounded better than one, the wolf decides he doesnt

want to risk it. He says goodbye to you and slinks off into the woods.

After an uneventful rest of the trip you head home back through the dark woods. You dont

like the dark and the fastest way worked best on the way there.

The Wolf, still hungry, as the only thing that passed by through the day was a heavily armed

huntsman, notices you and attacks you. Unfortunately, you are no match for his giant, sharp

teeth when you are so taken off guard. You also stumble and cant find your knife in the dark.

The wolf gobbles you up. Grandma and your Mother miss you dearly and mourn your death

every year.Continue

You start your trip on the wide open path your Mother had asked you to. After a

little while, you notice something following you in the pasture beside the path. Awolf comes up to you and begins to chat. He tells you some stories and that hes

on his way to visit a friend who lives one town over. The wolf notices a field of

flowers to your right.

With the thought of that knife in your basket and the wide open, visible

spaces of this main path, the wolf decides you are too much of a risk to attack

and eat. He slinks off towards the woods and you keep on your way to

Grandmas.

After a pleasant, but uneventful, visit, you return home and are praised by your

Mother for being such a good helper!

You make your way to the field and the wolf follows behind you. The gentle

wind brushes your cheek and you gather the most beautiful bouquet youve

ever seen. You turn around to show the wolf and hes gone. How strange.

You put the bouquet in your basket and make your way towards Grandmas.

When you finally arrive, you knock on the door. You hear a voice from inside

say, Come in Deary! I just love when my Little Red Cap comes to visit! You

think the voice sounds a little odd, but Grandma is sick. You

decide this voice is tooweird, get scared, and

run for home.

You take off through the woods. You have to get home and tell your Mother

about everything. You turn back to see if anyone is following you, but youre

all alone out here.

As you run, you start to think and realize that maybe the wolf was the cause

for Grandmas being so weird. You stop to think. Should you try to find help

nearby, which would be way faster, or should you run home so your mother

can gather people to help or decide if thats even worth doing?

As you run towards the nearest town, you run right into a local huntsman. You

immediately tell him your story and the two of you rush off to Grandmas cottage.

Upon arrival, the huntsman asks you to wait outside. You hear dishes clashing

and a large yelp. Then before you know it, the huntsman steps out of Grandmas cottage

with Grandma in his arms. She is dazed but alive.

They discuss the whole story together and you realize that the wolf rushed away

while you were picking flowers and had swallowed Grandma whole, in a rush since you were

close behind him. He had leaped at the huntsman, but lost that battle to the huntsmans

knife and hearing a muffled noise from the wolf s stomach, the huntsman sliced it open,

hoping to find Grandma and save her.

The Huntsman walks you home and Grandma makes sure to lock her door.

Thank goodness you and Grandma both made it out okay!

You finally make it home after what seems like forever and your Mother looks at

you with worried eyes. You tell her the story and she rushes to the neighbors to askthem if theyll go with you and her to check on Grandma. They agree and

everyone gathers bright and early the next morning.

Everyone is prepared for a fight, but when they get there, no one is to be found in

Grandmas cottage.

Grandma was never seen again and you and your mother make a grave for her. The

neighbors rationalize that the wolf must have tricked you and eaten Grandma.

Your Mother is devastated, but you both feel so lucky that you made it home alive

and well.

Through the window you can see that Grandma is in bed, but you

cant really see her face. Between her bonnet and the blankets all you can

make out is her general form. Everything seems okay so you decide to go

inside. Since you were already suspicious, when you notice how odd Grandma

actually looks, you know somethings not right.

Before you can act, the wolf notices your suspicion and jumps out

of Grandmas bed to pounce on you. You

Grab your fathers

knife and stab athim.

Run forthe door.

Once inside, you say, "Good morning!" but receive no answer. Then you go to the bed and pull back the

curtains. Grandmother was lying there with her cap pulled down over her face and looking very strange. You

say, "Oh, grandmother, what big ears you have! She replies, "All the better to hear you with. You then notice

her big hands and say, "Oh, grandmother, what a big mouth you have! And she says, "All the better to eat

you with!"

Grandma jumps out of bed at you and you quickly realize that the wolf was impersonating grandma. And the

wolf is now coming at you with vicious teeth and a hungry tummy. You

You begin to run. Racing away from Grandmas as fast as you can. You turn behind you and see the giant wolf

leaping after you. You can hear his heavy foot steps and the adrenaline spreads through your veins. You can feel it.This is the end. You cant out-run him and there arent even any trees to climb or places to hide that you can see

around you.

You begin running in different angles and trying to throw him off his game, but nothing is working. The wolf finally

catches up to you and his giant sharp jaws close in on you.

The Wolf finishes up his meal, licks his lips, and heads on his way with a tummy full of two full meals. Your

Mother never learns what happened to you and your Grandmother, but mourns your deaths every year.

Your Fathers blade stabs the wolf and he falls to the ground. Both your mind and heart are racing.

Your placement is just perfect and he falls to the ground, motionless. Thank goodness!

You sit on the ground in shock next to the wolf. Where could Grandma be? Did the wolf eat her, or

did she escape?

You hear a gurgled noise coming from the Wolfs stomach. You

Your uncle had taught you how to make sure your kill was finished. He was

an experienced hunter and you had seen him slice deer this way many a time.

You pierce the wolf with you blade and make the cut.

In his stomach, you see Grandma! He must have swallowed her whole. You

yank Grandmas lifeless body out of the wolf s stomach and

you and come tohelp Grandma.

Your salty tears fall on Grandmas face. All you have left of her is the red velvet cap that she

made you. You sit there for what seems like hours lost in your sadness.

Soon, you hear a knock and a huntsmen steps in the open door. He heard your crying while

walking by. He looks at you and grandma with a mix of shock and sorrow. He hurries

towards Grandma and tries to give her CPR.

After his best shot, Grandma still lays lifeless. He picks up her limp body, tucks her into her

bed, and takes you home. You and your Mother will have to bury Grandmother tomorrow.

You arrive home and your Mother and you cry together, but at least you still have each other.

Racing out of Grandmas house you scream at the top of your lungs, Help!

Please somebody help!

Before long, a huntsman who had been hunting in the woods rushes towards

you. You lead him to Grandmas cottage and he runs to her side.

The huntsman begins to give Grandma CPR and after a few tries, her heart

begins to beat again. Shes saved! You give your Grandmother a giant hug and

get her into bed. You, Grandma, and the huntsman celebrate your survival

over some cake and wine. Later that night, the huntsman walks you home and

your Mother swallows you up in a hug.
