The goods and services shown on the following pages are those we can provide to our customers. You may only choose those items you desire. However, any arrangements you select will include a charge for our basic services and overhead expenses. If legal or other requirements mean you must buy items you did not specifically ask for; we will explain the reason in writing on the statement we provide describing the funeral goods and services you have selected. The Linn's Funeral Home's charges include death, burial, or cremation within a 200 mile radius.
FUNERAL SERVICE PACKAGES
A. COMPLETE FUNERAL SERVICE WITH ONE DAY VISITATION $ 5,555.00
Includes services of the funeral director and staff, removal of deceased from
place of death within a 200 mile radius, transportation to one of the Linn’s Funeral
Homes, embalming services to include autopsy and organ donation repair,
disinfecting, cosmetizing, necessary hairdresser or barber, dressing, casketing,
temporary storage of remains, use of any Linn’s Funeral Home facilities for
visitation, use of any Linn’s Funeral Homes facilities for funeral or funeral
at the location of your choice to include necessary transportation to that location
within Iowa border, funeral hearse for funeral, 9-passenger car for family,
casket bearer car, and necessary vehicle to deliver flowers to funeral location
and delivery of flowers to any location the family directs with a 25-mile radius
of any Linn’s Funeral Homes facility, obituary in Iowa Falls, Ackley, or Waterloo
papers, registration book, necessary funeral folders, thank you cards, a
newspaper thank you, and necessary printing of these items when chosen
from Linn’s Funeral Homes selection stock of 45 folders or 20 thank you cards.
B. COMPLETE FUNERAL SERVICE WITHOUT VISITATION $ 5,245.00

OTHER SERVICES AVAILABLE
C. FORWARDING REMAINS TO ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME $ 1,875.00
This charge includes removal, necessary embalming, and temporary storage of remains and transportation to place of departure within the borders of Iowa.
This charge does not include services of the funeral director and staff.
D. RECEIVING REMAINS FROM ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME $ 1,295.00
This charge includes pick up of remains within Iowa, temporary shelter
of remains, and transferring remains to local cemetery within the borders of Iowa. This charge does not include services of the funeral director
and staff or the outer burial container (as required by some cemeteries).
E. IMMEDIATE BURIAL $ 3,375.00
This charge includes removal, temporary shelter of remains, services
of the funeral director and staff, and transferring to cemetery within the borders of Iowa. This charge does not include the outer burial container
(as required by some cemeteries), or embalming.
F. IMMEDIATE BURIAL WITH ALTERNATIVE CONTAINER $ 3,795.00
Immediate burial with an alternative container, usually constructed of a wood
and/or cardboard combination. This charge does not include the outer burial container (as required by some cemeteries), or embalming.
G. EMBALMING AND BURIAL WITH GRAVESIDE SERVICES $ 4,295.00
This charge includes the services of the funeral director and staff, removal, embalming, other preparation of remains, temporary shelter of remains,
registration book, necessary funeral folders and thank you cards, and transportation to cemetery within the borders of Iowa.
H. IMMEDIATE CREMATION $ 2,595.00
This charge includes services of the funeral director and staff, removal, temporary shelter of remains, other preparations of the remains,
transferring remains to crematory of the Linn's Funeral Home's choice, cost of cremation, and the return of the ashes to Embalming is not included.
I. IMMEDIATE CREMATION WITH MEMORIAL SERVICE $ 3,750.00
This charge includes immediate cremation items above, plus use of facilities and staff for memorial service, including registration book,
funeral folders, thank you cards, newspaper thank you, and printing.
J. COMPLETE FUNERAL SERVICE WITH CREMATION FOLLOWING $ 5,695.00
This charge includes a traditional funeral with visitation and use of an oak rental casket for the visitation and funeral service with cremation
and return of ashes to Linn’s Funeral Home following the funeral service.
EXPLANATION OF INDIVIDUAL ITEMS AVAILABLE
1. SERVICES OF FUNERAL DIRECTOR(S) AND STAFF $ 2,245.00
Linn's Funeral Home's basic service charge includes, but is not limited to:
consultation with family, coordination and other arrangements desired
by the survivors, coordination of clergy, musicians, casket bearers, and
flowers, direction of the visitation and funeral as desired, preparation and
filing of necessary notices, authorizations, and consents. This fee for
our basic services and overhead will be added to the total cost of funeral
arrangements you select. This fee is already included in our charges for
direct cremations, immediate burials, and forwarding or receiving of remains.
2. USE OF FACILITIES AND STAFF FOR VISITATION PER DAY $ 395.00
Or any portion thereof: evening scripture, prayer, or lodge services included.
3. USE OF FACILITIES AND STAFF FOR FUNERAL SERVICE $ 595.00
Includes services at a location other than Linn's Funeral Home.
4. TEMPORARY STORAGE OF REMAINS $ 325.00
5. EMBALMING OF REMAINS $ 895.00
Except in certain special cases, embalming is not required by law. Iowa
law requires embalming if burial or cremation does not occur within 48
hours; or if the person died of a communicable disease. Embalming
may be necessary, however, if you select certain arrangements, such
as a funeral with viewing. If you do not want embalming, you usually
have the right to choose arrangements that do not require you to pay for it;
such as direct cremation or immediate burial. Iowa law requires embalming
if burial or cremation does not occur within 48 hours; or if the person died of a
communicable disease.
6. OTHER PREPARATIONS OF REMAINS $ 365.00
Includes hairdresser and barbers charges, disinfection, autopsy and organ tissue
donation repair, cosmetizing, restorative feature building, dressing, casketing, and
other services required to assure proper appearance of the remains.
WHEN DEATH OCCURS OUT OF STATE
Linn's Funeral Home has the availability of a nationwide removal, embalming and
shipping service allowing the Linn's Funeral Home’s to charge the above prices
(included in package prices also), to even include transportation from any airport
within 200 miles of Iowa Falls. The only added charge to bring a loved one home to
the area would be for the airfreight transportation charges of the remains back to
Iowa. These charges would range in the $ 400 to $700 range and would apply
provided that Linn's Funeral Home is called when the death occurs to make
arrangements for the removal, embalming, and necessary transportation.
If one of the Linn's Funeral Homes is not called: charges can increase with
respect to charges of the funeral home called by family or the facility of death.
AUTOMOTIVE EQUIPMENT
7. TRANSFERRING REMAINS TO FUNERAL HOME $ 595.00
Necessary vehicle and Iowa law required and licensed staff for transferring
remains to Linn's Funeral Home from within the Iowa borders to Iowa Falls.
8. FUNERAL HEARSE $ 375.00
Funeral hearse for use at services and transportation to graveside within Iowa borders.
9. CASKETBEARERS\FAMILY CAR $ 200.00
Nine-passenger vehicle for funeral and transportation to graveside within Iowa borders.
10. UTILITY VEHICLE $ 150.00
This vehicle will be used for staff, pallbearers and/or flower delivery as needed.
ADDITIONAL MILEAGE CHARGE: Per mile traveled outside 200 mile radius of $ 1.75
Iowa Falls. NOTE: Mileage is included when remains are shipped by air freight.

Linn’s Funeral Homes policy is to place 100% of funds received into a trust account in your name and payable upon death to the Linn’s Funeral Home.

A General Price List is available at any funeral home in the United States just for the asking. Federal law requires any employee of a funeral home to give you a General Price List upon asking for one; even if that person is just employed to watch over the visitations.
COMPARING FUNERAL PRICES WITH ANOTHER FUNERAL HOME
Funeral homes establish prices in various ways. The prices funeral homes charge are adjusted periodically, but usually only once or twice a year. You must understand that a funeral home has three basic things it can charge for and make a profit: the services, casket, and vault. Some funeral homes will charge more for services and less for caskets and vaults; and some funeral homes will charge less for services and more for caskets and vaults. When comparing funeral prices the consumer should compare the total price charged at each funeral establishment.

Other services may be paid by the funeral home on your behalf and could include: Clothing, certified
copies of death, cemetery charges, opening and closing grave, ministers honorarium, organists, musicians, lunch expenses, church circle, military honor guard, final date on marker, charges by another funeral home, and possibly transportation charges if death occurs out of state. These charges would remain constant; no matter which funeral home you choose; with the exception that some funeral homes charge a commission for paying these charges for you. If the funeral home you are dealing with does charge a commission the Federal Trade Commission requires them to inform you of such on the Statement of Funeral Goods and Services provided at the arrangement conference.
