A Lion’s Habitat

• Most lions live in the wild of Eastern and Southern Africa. The Asiatic lion is now only found in the Gir Forest-Gujarat, India.

PHySicAl Features

• The mane of a lion is a distinctive feature exclusive only to the male of this species.

• On average, the males are about 3 meters long, and females about 2.5 meters long.

A Lion’s DietA lion’s diet consists of wildebeest, waterbuck,zebra, impala, and sometimes giraffe. Thefemales do most of the hunting for the pride. Onoccasion of not finding zebra, etc., they’ll eatsmaller animals such as birds and reptiles.

Raising its young

• The mother teaches her young how to hunt and live. After 2-3 years the cubs leave the pride and goes on their own.

Predators and How It’s Endangered
