GREETINGS

On behalf of the parents and on my own behalf, I wish to thank the Almighty God for making us, the community of Little Muheji, move this far.

BACKGROUND

Little Muheji PTA is a voluntary association of parents and guardians who have or take care of children who are studying in Little Muheji and teachers who are teaching in Little Muheji.

The parents of Little Muheji, you are aware that under the law, the education act, there is no mandatory provision that a private school like Little Muheji should have a PTA. However, in the wisdom of the management

Message from the Chairperson of Parents - Teachers Association (PTA)

of Little Muheji, they found it good to form a PTA. We the PTA therefore find it good for this initiative of involving the PTA into management of the affairs of our dear children.

ACHIEVEMENTS

Since the formation of PTA, we have carried out numerous activities. We have interfaced with the teachers to ensure their smooth performance.

We have gone out to the public to give support to the community. In particular, we have provided health services. We have also made lots of donations to the Anglican and catholic churches of Nansana. We organised a sports day which saw a lot of parents’ participation. Just to mention but a few.

EXPECTATIONS

We expect to do more. Among the things we expect to achieve is the cohesion of parents. We want to see that the parents are together and they participate in the affairs of their children. We also expect to develop discipline including personal conduct e.g. dress code. We also expect to raise awareness of parents four our responsibility as parents to meet the School requirements e.g. payment of fees in time, buying School uniforms and other Scholastic materials. We still have in store more academic activities to boost like Science Days and others.

CALL ON GOVERNMENT

The PTA wishes to call on the government to do more for private primary schools. The motive of institutions like Little Muheji is performing tasks ordinarily the mandate of government. These people need support in all ways. This support is done in many countries around the world.

“REMAIN DEEP ROOTED IN CHRIST” COLOSSIANS 2:6-7

Finally, the PTA calls on the parents, teaches and the entire Little Muheji community to be God-fearing. We call on our Christians to adhere to the theme of today.

The PTA wishes all of us a happy celebration.

FOR GOD AND MY COUNTRY.

It is a greater honour and we give glory to God as I warmly welcome our Lord Bishop, Rt. Rev. Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira of Namirembe diocese and all the distinguished guests to this auspicious occasion of thanking God the Almighty for the far He has brought us.

Distinguished guests and in particular our parents who have entrusted us with your children, you will recall that in 2016, we gathered here to celebrate ten years of successful existence characterized by excellent performance and cooperation from the district leadership and the entire Nansana Municipality community.

Today, we are here yet again for a thanksgiving service as we mark a dozen years of diligent service and contribution to our community and the nation with more solid achievements registered in terms of infrastructure, academic success and spiritual growth.

I would like, in a special way, to thank our Lord Bishop of Namirembe Diocese, our father in Christ, the Rt. Rev. Wilberforce Kityo Luwalira for honouring our requests to preside over the wedding for our staff as well as accepting our invitation to preside over the thanksgiving for our 12th anniversary, blessing our

newly constructed dormitories for pupils, blessing our candidates and the prefects as well as confirming some other pupils in the Christian faith. I request you to join me in giving a thunderous applause to our dear Bishop.

My Lord Bishop and distinguished guests, God has continued to bless this school with a dedicated Board of Directors, administrators, a committed teaching staff and God fearing pupils on top of cooperative parents.

I would like to thank the Wakiso District and Nansana Municipality political and civil authorities for the relentless support in providing an enabling environment for the school to function effectively in fulfilling its mission.

Since the year 2016, when we celebrated the ten years of existence under the theme “Ebenezer”: “Thus far Lord has brought us”, God has continued to bless us with more milestones in terms of academic success, increased children enrollment and protection from societal evil such as children kidnaps and child sacrifice.

I would like to thank the parents for the commitment in providing for your children in terms of tuition, clothing and food to ensure they

get the best education and grow into responsible citizens.

My Lord Bishop, the school administration has remained steadfast in implementing the vision of the founders of providing holistic professional and vocational education in order to nurture the pupils into future job creators but not seekers. We have also responded positively to the requests from the parents and other stakeholders to provide accommodation facilities to the upper class pupils to enable them concentrate on preparations for their examination and do joint revision. The three dormitories you have just blessed are a response to the parents request and our commitment to continued improvement in the learning environment.

Distinguished guests, Little Muheji School has remained deeply rooted in Christian values and we have continued with our customs of daily morning prayers, weekly preaching sessions administered by the Namirembe diocesan mission team, Sunday services for our boarding pupils in their respective nearby churches. We also have a memory verse from the Bible cited by the pupils on a daily basis, for them to appreciate the religious virtues.

My Lord Bishop, it is in the same spirit that the school administration has, effective this year, introduced the adopted custom of mass weddings in the Anglican Church courtesy of Namirembe Diocese. My Lord, today you have already presided over the matrimonial ceremony of three of our staff and one other staff has received the holy sacrament in the Roman Catholic Church. I pray that this will be more regular in the future.

Distinguished guests, today we are also witnessing the confirmation of 42 pupils in the Anglican faith, blessing of our three dormitories, 2018 PLE candidates, school prefects on top of four weddings. For all this, we are eternally grateful for your co-operation and invaluable contributions.

I would like to pledge on behalf of the school administration that we shall continue to do our best. By God’s mercy, to provide excellent services in meeting our stakeholders’ expectations.

May the Good Lord bless you abundantly as you continue to sow early in order to reap abundantly. I thank you for your kind attention.

Priest: Let us all stand and affirm our faith in the words of the NICENE CREED.

NICENE CREED

I believe in One God, the Father Almighty, creator of heaven and earth and all that is visible and invisible. I believe in one Lord Jesus Christ, the only son of God. Eternally begotten of the father, God from God, Light from light, True God from True God, begotten not made. One in being with the father. Through Him All things were made. For us men and for our salvation, he came down from heaven; by the power of the Holy Spirit. He was born of the Virgin Mary and became man. For our sake, He was crucified under Pontius Pilate; He suffered, died and was buried. On the third day, He rose again in fulfillment to the scriptures. He Ascended into heaven and is seated on the right hand of the father. He will come again in glory to judge the living and the dead and His kingdom will have no end. I believe in the Holy Spirit, The Lord and giver of life who proceeds from the father and the son, who with the father and the son is worshipped and glorified and He spoke through the Prophets. I believe in one, Holy Catholic and Apostolic Church, I acknowledge one baptism for the forgiveness of sins I look forward to the resurrection of the dead and life of the world to come. Amen

With our own lips and from your own heart you must renew the vows of baptism and declare your allegiance to Christ and your rejection of all that is evil. Therefore, I ask these Questions.

Bishop: Glory and honour be to you most high for you gave us your only Son Jesus Christ to suffer and die on the cross for our redemption. Hear us we humbly

pray and grant that we who receive the gift of this bread and wine may take part of this bread and wine and may partake of his most blessed body and blood.

The night he was betrayed he took the bread, gave thanks and broke it. He gave to his disciples saying; “Take and eat’ this is my body which is given for you. Do this in memory of me.” In the same way, after supper, he took the cup and gave thanks and gave it to them saying; “Drink this all of you,” this is the blood of the new covenant which is shed for you and many for the forgiveness of sins. Do this as often as you drink it in remembrance of me. Amen

All: Christ had died, Christ has risen, Christ will come again.

PRAYER OF HUMBLE ACCESS

All: We do not come to your table, merciful Lord, trusting in our own righteousness, but in your mercy. We are not even worth to gather up the crumbs under your table, but you are the same Lord, whose nature is to have mercy. Grant us therefore, to let us eat the flesh of your dear Son Jesus Christ and to drink His blood so that our sinful bodies may be made clean by His body, and souls washed by his precious blood and that we may evermore dwell in Him and Hin in us. Amen.

All: O Lamb of God, You who take away the sins of the world, Have mercy on us. O Lamb of God, you who take away the sins of the world, Have mercy upon us. O Lamb of God, You who take away the sins of the world, Grant us your peace.

INVITATION

Bishop: Draw near with faith and take the Body and Blood of Christ to preserve you in Eternal life.

(Bishop and Clergy receive Holy Communion first, followed by the confirmed and other Communicants)

HYMN

IT IS WELL WITH MY SOUL

1. When peace, like a river, attendeth my way, When sorrows like sea billows roll; Whatever my lot, Thou has taught me to say, It is well, it is well, with my soul.

It is well, with my soul, It is well, with my soul, It is well, it is well, with my soul.

2. Though Satan should buffet, though trials should come, Let this blessed assurance control, That Christ has regarded my helpless estate, And hath shed His own blood for my soul.

It is well, with my soul, It is well, with my soul, It is well, it is well, with my soul.

3. My sin, oh, the bliss of this glorious thought!

My sin, not in part but the whole, Is nailed to the cross, and I bear it no

more, Praise the Lord, praise the Lord, O my

soul!

It is well, with my soul, It is well, with my soul, It is well, it is well, with my soul.

4. And Lord, haste the day when my faith shall be sight,

The clouds be rolled back as a scroll; The trumpet shall resound, and the Lord

shall descend, Even so, it is well with my soul.

It is well, with my soul, It is well, with my soul, It is well, it is well, with my soul.

PRAISE LORD LET PEOPLE REJOICE

1. Have you been to Jesus for cleansing power? Are you washed in the blood of the lamb? Are fully trusting in his grace each hour? Are washed in the blood of the lamb? Are you washed in the blood? In the soul cleansing blood of the lamb? Are your garments spotless? Are they white as snow? Are you washed in the blood of the lamb?

2. Are walking daily by the savior’s side Are washed in the blood of the lamb? Do you rest each moment in the crucified? Are you washed in the blood of the lamb?

3. When the bridegroom cometh will your robes be white,

Pure and white in the blood of the lamb? Will your soul be ready for mansions bright? And be washed in the blood of the lamb?

4. Lay aside the garments that are stained with sin,

And be washed in the blood of the lamb! There’s a fountain flowing or the soul unclean; Oh, be washed in the blood of the blood.

AFTER COMMUNION

Celebrant: Let us pray. (All kneel/sit)

Our Saviour taught us, so we pray

All: Our father in heaven Hallowed be Your Name Your kingdom come, Your will be done, on earth as in heaven. Give us today our daily food. Forgive us our sins As we forgive those who sin against us.

Lead us not into temptation But deliver us from evil. For the Kingdom, the power, and the glory

are Yours Now and forever. Amen.

Little Muheji Kindergarten school that opened her doors in 2006, was a long dream that started in 1998 with discoveries in Secondary education, and later in 2004, apiece of land was procured, construction initiated and completed in September 2005, paving way for the start of the school on 6th February 2006. Little Muheii School was set up by development oriented Ugandans having realized the dire need to provide relevant, quality, efficient and effective Kindergarten, and daycare services in the artskirts of Wakiso Town. The school

was primarily set up to only offer kindergarten services, however, when the pioneers completed Top Class, there was demand to start the primary section. The Kindergarten admits children aged 3 and above. It covers Baby, Middle and Top Classes. All the classes are streamed to manageable numbers to ensure an excellent pupil teacher ratio. Each of the streams is handled by at least two teachers. We have very experienced and compassionate teachers in the school with the aim of making children love school.

The pupils that graduated from Top Class joined primary one in 2007 and this cohort is our pioneer that completed their Primary Leaving Examination in 2013. Indeed, 2013 was a historical year as our pioneers scored the 7th position in Wakiso district and the 34th in the Country. The primary campus provides a full range of academic and co-curricular activities. Like in the kindergarten section, the

classes are streamed to ensure an excellent pupil-teacher ratio. The School has continued to excel in many academic disciplines. Our staff remains committed to the national primary curriculum and the moral values of our children.Trend of Primary Seven performance

Our pupils have continued to excel and join 1st world schools namely; Ntale School, Gayaza High Schoool, SMARK, Mengo, Makerere college School, among other etc.

School Curriculum Little Muheji School provides a curriculum that accepts pupils aged three to Five for Kindergarten and from age Six for Primary section following the Ugandan education system. We have a broad and balanced curriculum which provides for the academic, spiritual, moral, physical, creative, personal, and social development. This will stimulate your child to acquire knowledge and develop individual skills. The syllabus covers the Uganda National Examinations Board syllabus (UNEB). This will provide a solid foundation for the next stage in their education. The children are taught in

their group by subject specialist teachers. Each group also has a class teacher who will get to know your child very well, to understand the best approach in helping them learn and understand. Assessments of development and learning needs are done throughout the school year. The assessment for all pupils in primary classes is an ongoing process. Pupils are assessed on monthly tests, beginning, mid and end of term tests and holiday packages are also considered. These assessments are a blend of internally and externally set examinations, and promotion at the end of the year is based on the cumulative pass mark of the school.

Boarding facilities: The school has excellently established permanent boarding facilities separate for boys and girls. The facilities are equipped with CCTV Cameras, fire extinguishers, escape doors, both hydro and solar electricity thunder arrestors and running water. Boarding facilities were primarily established for upper primary i.e from P.5 to P.7 and not compulsory. But provision has also been made for children in lower primary who for one reason or other may require these services.

Transport Services The school provides transport as a complementary service for parents and guardians that may not be able to pick and drop their children from the school. Using the twelve medium and big size school buses, children are picked from and dropped at points of easy access. There are designed routes and each route is assigned a school bus. This complementary service has ensured that pupils reach school in time, has increased more bonding, interaction and learning among the pupils. The pupils are currently picked from Wakiso, Kakiri, Senge, Kayunga, Wamala, Katooke, Kabumbi, Naluvule, Yesu Amala, Nabweru, Kibwa, Kasubi, Namungona, Jeninah, Gganda, Kyebando
